a DH17 with bad HAM costs is a crime against humanity. Dump it and get a new one. Laser carbines and DXR6s are good for lvling

i know that alot of people are going ot disagree with me but ill say it anyway.

Nym's slug thrower. ya its slow, but once you hit speed 2or 3 with a good speed slice, its great.

i try to stear away from energy dmg, plus its not very often that you find a mob thats got to acid protection if any.

i love my slug thrower, i love , i love , i love it!!!

Agreed , im using a speed sliced NST for my carbine levelling and its not half bad although i use combination of laser, dh17, dxr6 and NST.

Hello,

I'm currently learning the class and I mostly use an Elite and Nym carbine.

I used an EE3 with a spd slice, decent dmg, with light armor piercing. It seemed to work well with savage quenkers.

While all these comments are fine, the TRUTH is you must match the damage type to the critter you are killing, plain and simple. NEVER fight things with high energy, acid, and heat resists or you might as well un-equip your weapon and go /prone saying "Please incap me" - will save condition on your weapon

Also look at the Amor Rating of the subject you are sending to the Great Beyond and compare with resists and weapons too. If you need help on the creatures, go to www.swgcreatures.com

Personally I carry just about 2 of every weapon/damage type. One Krayt for the quick kill or really high end stuff and then regular non-Krayt version for day to day killing. To pick a weapon simply calculate DPS, [(max+min)/2]/speed. There is no ONE weapon to level Carbineer, tactics must be used as a Carbineer is strong in the Mind

Laser Carbines have the highest damager per second so i find i use them the most. Especially agaisnt critters with no armour, that Medium Armour peircing is gonna do you wonderfully. But as firehawk mentioned there is never anyone carbine to get the job done. But if i had to pick one that came the closest it would be the Laser Carbine. Always keep a good EE3 and DXR-6 handy. Elite's are useful but in PvE you have much better tools at your disposal. So i guess the moral of my little story is to be well equipped.

Oh and I am well equipped

BTW, my DH17 snub carbine is the highest DPS gun I have since AP doesn't seem to work again AR0. But then we need to get into the discussion of speed vs. damage and the speed cap and all that junk

my DH17 Short was my highest DPS gun until I got my EE3 speed sliced...

2.4 DH17 vs. 1.9 EE3 (I love them both!!)

Really? Is that after your carb skill mods or just in general, because then my DH17 would likely be mine as well.

My Krayt DH17 is near 400 max damage with 2.0 speed before my skill mods It is also my gun of choice when I am not buffed, but come to think of it, since I also have a Master Doc account I never go around unbuffed

I use a Damage sliced EE3 169 - 409 with power up. Its also stocked so the ham is a little higher and the speed is 3.2 but with 100+ Carbine speed, the speed is not an issue. I tear stuff up so fast with it, its scary. If the EE3 had light AP it would definately get my vote for favorite. My AP1 gun is a DXR6 thats also stocked and damage sliced its 194 - 389 with PU and 4.1 speed. Since you almost always have to be buffed to play effectively you might as well go for a stocked weapon for that extra damage. If you don't have 100+ speed get it speed sliced and your good to go. Just my 2 cents.
