i was talking with a friend today and he told me that a master doc master terakasi could own pretty much anyone. Do you think a master carbinier could ever win in a fight vs master doc master terakasi. since carbiniers rely on states more then highdamage and docs can cure damage would this be a fair fight? would a carbinier ever win in a fight vs master tk? arn't our chances of applying states low?

You would win if you were in the open and could stay more than 20m away at all times.

NO, cause a carbineer cant target a docs mind. And since they can remove any stat you place on them, even if you kite them you are boned.

Yes, you could win. TKA are not nearly as powerful as people think. First off, if the target is for example a master doc. Yes he can heal states, but this means he's not a master brawler, which means he can only hit you from about 15m (only with unarmed hit 3, not a KD) which means you only need to stay 10m away not to get KD/Dizzy. Add into that, the fact thatMaster TKAs have the LOWEST state resists in the game. At Master, they only have +5 to dizzy that's it and only +20 to KD so it's not hard to land a Dizzy on them. Next, WEAR A FULL SUIT OF 80% (or better) Kinetic resist armor. It is they're only damage type, throw a sheild generator on top of that, and their best attack will be doing 30-60 damage. So, they are by no means impossible to beat, you just have to be smart.

you try kiting a tkm...it's dead hard especially when all they really need to do is burst run up to you to kd/dizzy you back down.

i've seen someone use a macro:

stand; healstate self - or something like that, so if they're kd/dizzy, right when they stand they heal thier dizzy state before they fall back down.

Let us not forget the ever annoying capability, Force of Will. Even after you've beaten them, you still haven't beaten them. God help you if its a tough fight or your buffs aren't superb.

kiting a master doc/tkm would be a good way to find out how long it takes to run from Theed to Moeina.

I beat a Doc/TK last night at Fort Clandestine... err... Fort Tusken. Idid dizzy him. Idid KD him. He cured his dizzy, but it wasn't fast enough. I still got a few shots in while he was down. After he got up, I got him dizzy again and got him to kneel, resulting in another fall as he tried to get up. I then proceded to scatter shot him, and it was somewhat effective at draining his mind. It wasn't effective enough for my tastes though lol, so I switched to my stun baton and scatter hit hit to death. I didn't need to switch to my buton, but if I hadn't, it would have taken me quite a bit to kill the guy though.

The moral of the story... yes, a master carbineer can beat a Doc/TK, but it might take a while without other skills. I was able to kite him quite well with my use of KD and actionshot. You just have to know what you bring to the table, know what your opponent brings to the table, and know the best way to approach the situation.

TK's have at master:
+5 defense vs. dizzy
+10 defense vs. blind
+15 defense vs. stun
+20 defense vs. knockdown
+30 defense vs posture change (down)
+62 melee defense
+45 ranged defense
+55 combat equilibrium
+96 defensive aquity

Carbineers have at master
+25 defense vs. intimidate
+15 defense vs. knockdown
+105 counterattack
+27 ranged defense

+0 defense vs. stun
+0 defense vs. blind
+0 defense vs. stun
+0 melee defense

TK's aren't even close to having the lowest state resists in the game. Bounty hunters (no defenses at all) and commandos (+5 defense vs. knockdown) have the worst state resists. After them comes carbineers. TK's have the lowest among the melee's, but it's still better than the 3 worst ranged elites combined.

Lol, wrong answer, sort of. Scatter 2 hits mind very often. Why? it hits the player 3 times, and tries to hit all three pools(though it usually only hits two pools)

I only regularlyloose to Riflemen, Swordsmen and Combat Medics. With TKA, Pistoleers, Fencers, Pikeman, Commandos and Smugglers it's who's buffs are the best and when does the moun / brandy wear out. Epic, but ultimately boring fights. Also if you're getting KD'd a lot pick up some Anti-KD food. Can't remember the name right now. Works great for me.

How are you guys having such luck with pvp? only time I get to win is when they're not buffedor armored. If they are buffed and armored then they regen faster than I can damage, and have to pull out my vibroknucklers to beat em down after chargeshot from range to stop them.

Yeah it seems when I'm doing 1 vs 1, I only use the carbine to do ranged KD so I can catch up and smack them down with tka powers. But with carbines it's so hard punching through comp...
