Thread: Defense stackers

Was curios is there any way to beat a player with ranged defense that is close to 200 when using carbines? I got a total of 190 carbine accuracy and ideal range modifiers on my carbines that are around +60 but still miss about 80% of my shots while they hammer away at my mind with their rifles. I know the defense stacking will be nerfed somehow with the combat revamp but until then I'd like to know if there is a way to beat them in a 1 vs 1.

juse /aim on your command then /wildshot1 on your second

I've tried /aim and it helps but in the time it takes for me to get the stun effect on them they usually have done enough damage to me that I haven't got a chance. I'll try that /praytogod next time though since it will probably work better

I usually use my E11 that's like +42 at let's say around 37m. I've been able to land plenty of hits on stackers. Blind is your friend.

There are 3 defense stackers I routinely fight, and I lose most of the time. Here's how I would win on occasion:

I'm (was) 0-4-4-4 Carb, 0-4-3-0 BH. I could land a KD dizzy via BH Confusion Shot/Carb Charge Shot and keep them down. If they weren't buffed I could land Cripple Shots and maybe another Charge if they got up. If they were armored and buffed, I'd have to Eye Shoot them with a Tangle Pistol for stun after they were Dizzy/Kded. I'd also keep spice in my toolbar. Funny thing was, when I actually did win, they were so suprised, like they thought they were immortal.

All that said, we know Charge Shot is not what is was, and thus my success is not the same. So I decided to finish Mastering BH and keep some Carb supplemental skills. One month ago I was a Master Carbineer, but not anymore.

From what I hear, Novice Brawler is effective versus template stackers. If you land an Intimidate on them, it drops their defenses, and halves their damage. That might give you a small window to get in some specials and state effects on them that you otherwise would not. A Master Carbineer as sole offense is not going to beat a template stacker, but if you pick up some supplemental skills, you could make it interesting.

There's not one single way to really beat them, there are a number of things you have to do, all of which have been listed.

You're pretty screwed against a defense stacker unless 1.) You are stacking defenses yourself or 2.) You have the BH carbine line. With that, you get 40-50 more accuracy and the same ammount of speed, so you're shooting twice as fast.

You can get a total of +25 carbine accuracy and +25 carbine accuracy while moving from tapes/attachment... do it.

If you're buffed, Elite with full damage stock and the rest put into range, with one of the new scopes that gives +25 range. Do NOT use this if you aren't buffed, the HAM ends up being just under 100. If you aren't buffed, you'll want an elite with a no HAM scope and hope that your WS could get ideal up to +25.

Accuracy food just got put it, use it.

/aim; /fkd OR if you don't have it...
/aim; /chargeshot1;

Then:

/crippleshot; /crippleshot

Make a macro for /aim; /chargeshot1

Some good advice there but I've tried most of it and havent seemed to work so I dropped all my BH carbine skills since it just felt like a waste of skillpoints. Doubt I'll be pvping much until defense stacking gets fixed.

well, I'm not a BH (defense stacker myself) but to beat em i use a +93 at ideal range scoped/stocked elite carbine. Much better than the +25 to ideal range ones, heh.

If you use a carbine then you need to know that God has abandoned you.
