Thread: crippling shot vs. burst shot 1
can i get a comparisson between crippling shot and bshot 1?
ham cost differences?
dmg difference?
pool hitting difference?
speed?
Crippling shot is slower than burst shot 1
It does about 25%+ more damage than BS1.
CSreally chews up your action pool.
Sorry I don't have any numbers...but there should be at least a dozen posts here with this data.
in my experience, crippling shot does less damage than both burst shot 1 and burst shot 2.

I got Burst Shot 1 tonight and decided to try it out against some of the other shots. I took 10 shots at Druni, Butterflys, and Meatlumps on Corellia. None of them have any resists or armor. HAM costs are what floated above my head when I fired. Damage is from the combat channel window, not what was above the target's head. Here's my results:

Over-all, I think that I like CrippleShot better. Have to be careful with the HAM while using it, but it does hit hard. It was noticably slower than the other 2 shots, but not enough that I don't want to use it.
If you are really short on character points, go with CrippleShot. It only costs 3 while BurstShot1 costs 5 to get. You'll still have 2 points to use somewhere else.
Cripple shot is third box up so it cost's a total of 12 points to get,the others are low full auto is very nice and faster, and can blind and stun sometimes with a laser carbine, so i mix mine up big time, i hit em with a bleed, then leg shot to get a stun, full auto till there hit with a blind then crippleshot em to death. I have a ;aser carbine that sliced and power up does 460 dam 3.5 sp and hit with cripple at times for 3600 dam on NPC's, same rifle close to 2000 on full auto. full auto takes more of all my ham cause it hits every where but crippling is primarily action. If your a medic don't worry bout it. I do not have burst cause i heard it was lame , but will have it soon.

I am just shocked at the amount of misinformation in this post (SOJs post aside). Are you people carbineers?
-Crippleshot is the biggest damage skill (most damage per shot). Cripple appears to do 7.5 times damage. It is slower than burstshot and uses alot of HAM. If you are not a faster carbineer, other skills like burstshot will do more damage (damage over time because of higher firing rate). If you are not a medic, this skill will be impossible to use.
-Crippleshot hits random pool. Random pool means RANDOM. However, "random pool" shots seem to hit with a breakdown of 60/30/10 health/action/mind. This is across the board for all random pool hits. This follows the logic that the chest area is easier to hit and the head hardest.
-Crippleshot is the best skill to use if you fast and can deal with the HAM use. By fast, I mean +75 speed or higher. This means you are a BH/carbineer.
-Since random pool shots hit health 60% of the time, the target will die from health VASTLY more often than other pools. Action bleeds serve no point if you use random pool damage shots since they are bleeding a pool the target will very likely not die from. Spend yourHAM hitting them for damage instead.
-Burstshot1 is better to use if you are a slow carbineer since it does decent damage but fires fast.
