>>in my experience, crippling shot does less damage than both burst shot 1 and burst shot 2.<<

are you high?

i consistantly break 1k with crippling shot with my highest being 1800+ so far. burst shot 1 has yet to break 700 or 800 at best. fas2 performs better than bs1. havent got to bs2 yet so i cant say anything about it.

crippling shot does cost alot of HAM but the damage it does is worth it. you dont spam cs and with the damage it does you dont have to. i recommend it to anyone that intends to fill up 3 or more skill boxes in carbineer.

We need some way of working out DPS bang-for-buck depending on:

* damage of move
* how many +speed boxes you have
* how many +accuracy boxes you have
* HAM cost of move
* skill points to obtain move

There are so many different ways you could go with partial Carbineer that would leave skill points for complementary abilities. Example: go for the speed line only, stick with fullautosingle2 (saving 5 skill points on burst shot, 12 skill points on crippling shot) andtrain Doctor to buff yourselfand eliminate HAM costs.

The damage of a move on its own is worthless.Having 0-3-0-0 (sloowww crippling shot only) is not much help in PvP when somebody is bearing down on you ... better hope you don't miss.

burst shot would be alone.. at 0/0/1/0 .. you wouldnt "save" the points.. unless you're speaking relatively..

im only concerned with where my 1 line is going.. and right now, i think the rws3 and bshot1 is winning (for my scenario). .. the most influential posts above were..

a) warning shot helpful against dna-aggro mobs

b) high HAM costs for other, im only novice medic + organic chem

c) people do admit that bshot 1 is pretty decent..

heh..

hell.. i get approx 50% of my shots are 400-800 range, approx50% of my shots are 1000+ dmg ... on full auto 1.. i'd be happy keeping that.. but i'll see how it goes to use bshot1...

after reading all of that.. im going with MBE, MCH, novice carbineer 0/0/1/0, rws 3

i need warning shot, and i cant heal for crap (best i canuse is a stim-b), and my speed is low... cause im NOT a BH/carbineer

hmm.. my gun right now is..... krayt laser carbine, sliced, powerd up = 46-399, 2.2 speed

can i get any CARBINEER (or especially that BE carbineer) to confirm that this is the way to go?

getting cripple shot or full auto 2 would prevent me from getting warning shot.

Crippling shot is the special move l used the most as a Master Carbineer. Using it at Master skill, you will usually hit for around 1000-2500 dmg, using laser carbine that is. In some occasions you will be able to hit for 3-4kdmg, depends on the target and resists.

Even though the crippling shot eats up your action pool, it is not a big problem if you have the basic healing skills. Its also good at shooting empty lairs, should be able to hit up to 12k dmg.

Using a Laser Carbine (24-299 damage) and Burst Shot1, I have done a reported damage of 1700 and the number that floated up was 2500. Was near ideal range, but only kneeling. My skill in Carbine is 1,0,1,0.

remember the line crippling shot is in gives you more accuracy. sure we have no idea if it works or not. but at least theorically, it makes you hit things better. If you are a partial carbineer, you should worry about connecting your shots with the bigger critter later in game.

that is, if this whole accuracy things really works.

You keep saying your going to be a MCH right? If that is the case you don't need warning shot ... save the points for something that does matter.

Why don't you need warning shot? Cause you got pets to hold off the aggro's. Heck ... my little krevol beetle can take 4 or 5 hits from an ancient rancor (lvl 14 pet)... you need more then that to get away? As an MCH your going to be able to have 70 levels of pets out :-)

So ... drop the 12 points for warning shot ... as a Master CH your *not* going to have to worry about aggro's :-)

In the famous words of Anrold ... "Hear Me Know and Believe Me Later" ... if you waste the points on warning now, you will drop them later ...

My carbine skills now stand at 0/0/1/0 with medic skills and with my laser carbine sliced at 2.0 speed and 294 max damage, I can use burst shot within range and consistently hit for 800-1600 against mobs. Some of these figures seem a bit low to me if that's the damage I'm getting and some guns listed here have higher stats. Maybe they forgot to gimp the carbineer on Wanderhome
