I think a lot of people have an over-inflated sense of worth regarding 12pts.

Whenever I get a /tell out of the blue "You a 12-pt WS?" I usually respond with "No, I spent my money on useful things, why?".

They usually ask me to do the custom order, and are quite pleased with my work.

As for the Force Sensitive Carbine stuff...... I didn't think about that, to be honest. I think I may go for it.

See, some of us haven't got an "uber PvP" template. We have a "Crafter, but I'd like to be able to fire a gun" template. So Bountyhunter is out of the question, but this FS stuff is just nicely affordable (just about).

Well, I'm not sure how current my Prof.Calculator is, but in the FS Combat Prowess trees, both Ranged Speed & Accuracy lines give +3 mods in each box. If that's correct, Accuracy isn't worth it, but Speed would definitely be. That way, a plain Master Carbineer will have +60 Carbine Speed (+65 w/ Master Marksman) and +12 Enhanced Ranged Speed.

To be competitive, with certain templates I would have to be FS unfortunately.

This is great, now when they balance it, will they take into account FS bonuses? If not we will still have people shooting at the speed cap with a rifle.

If you think of the fs extras with the + 5 speed. Think about all them Riflemen running about with speed cap. If they add all these fs extra they need to make each profession with different speed and accuracy caps. Pistoleer = fastest firing andmedium accuracy, carbineer medium speed and medium accuracy, Riflemen= slowest firing and best accuracy caps. Thats my opinion on this.

unless they changed it on TC? the speed boxes are actually +3 each, for a total of +12 ranged attack speed, same with the ranged accuracy. Still very nice to have if you cant afford many many millions in speed tapes, which most people cant.

Please correct me if I am wrong on any of this, this is simple how I currently understand the system to be:

10 Weapons expconverts to1 FS exp in the Village.

Rank 1 FS box = 175,000 FS exp.

Rank 2 FS box= 250,000 FS exp.

Rank 3 FS box = 350,000 FS exp.

Rank 4 FS box = 450,000 FS exp.

Rank 4 Ranged Accuracy + Rank 4 Ranged Speed = 24,500,000 weapons exp. In this case, Carbine exp.

The 8 applicable FS boxes = 6 and 2/3 * Master Carbineer.

0400 BH= +50 Carbine Speed, +50 Carbine Accuracy.

0400 BH = 1,225,000 Carbine exp = 1 tree in Carbineer.

0400 BH = FireKD + Confusion Shot

--------

Just an opinion, but that seems like a lot of work when better gains can be made elsewhere.

Even if you have no aspirations of being a Jedi, does being force-sensitive entice you? Better aim? A faster trigger finger?

Since the force-sensitive boxes do provide bonuses like +3 speed and there are 4 of those boxes, (+12 speed), it might be worthwhile to you to read up on the evolving changes to becoming force sensitive. It does not appear it will be all that difficult to become a force-sensitive carbineer. Check out the test center forum for more info...

May the force be with you...

Thats the sad part...people will now go for fs...to be l33t pvpers...sad....crafters will go for the crafting mastery, then all will have to as well to compete...sad.

Yeah....the whole system is sad and such b.s. SOE is practically forcing EVERYONE to become at least Force Sensitive. Why? Well who can compete in PvP when some great mods (+accuracy, +speed, +melee def., +ranged def.) are available at very low SP cost. What crafter is not going to have to get the +experimentation trees to keep business and stay competetive? This is why it's such bs.

I think they are trying to compensate the regular professions to quell the "Nerf jedi!" crys coming from the gcw boards and others.

Whether it works? /shrug time will tell. At least its a start. Eventually you will need to be FS in some way to be competitive I'd guess.

To be competitive you will ahve to have this. People are constantly looking for a edge, unfortunately that edge soon becomes main stream. I will ne to get force sensitive for my armorsmith, so I can compete with the FS crafters with extra experimentation.

i love the idea of fs combat prof's, not a "jedi" but with semi-jedi like skills. and it is great for people who cant afford to get defenses from another profession. sorta lame knowing everyone will be it tho.
