Thread: ***Official Cone Effect Angle Testing Results***

As discussed in another Thread, I wanted to do Official testing on the exact angle for our Cone Effect Specials.

I tested this with my three accounts so I had complete control over the exact positioning of each character. I placed the attacker and target in a straight line 40m apart and then moved the third character perpendicular to that line, thus creating a Right Triangle. Using the Tangent of this Right Triangle I was able to position the third character exactly +/- 0.5m.

After testing 15, 20, 17.5, and 16 degree angles, I found that 15 degrees worked and the others did not. I tested this with FullAutoArea2, BurstShot2, ChargeShot2, ActionShot2 and WildShot2. This means allCone Effect Specials for Carbineer affect within an angle of 30 degrees.

So lets look at some distances away from a target you can be and hit another target on either side:

60m to target will hit 16.0m either side

40m to target will hit 10.7m either side

30m to target will hit 8.0m either side

20m to target will hit 5.4m either side

10m to target will hit 2.7m either side

I hope this dispells any rumors/myths out there and provides each Carbineer with one more detail to be more effective in battle

SIDE NOTE: ActionShot2 stood my third character back up from the KD when the Posture Change landed.....so be warned that a KD or Posture Change will stand your target back up.

Some pretty thorough (and nice) testing, thanks for the info. One more step of knowledge in advancing out of the newbie carbineer mind-set.

Thanks a lot for all of the testing and great info. man! It really helps a newbie carbineer such as myself who's still a little scared about dropping rifles and not being able to kill anything (unfounded fear I know, but it's still there...). So for that I salute you!

/salute TA

P.S. My fear is fading, with time I hope to overcome it completely and join the ranks of the other hugely intelligent carbineers out there

While I don't do this to get a pat on the back, it is very nice to hear the compliments and appreciation for my work to the betterment of the Carbineer Community.

If all I wanted was accolades, then I wouldn't spend half my time FLAMING people

Of course this and the ScatterShot2 testing may go out the window with the Combat Balance......but this is good info for at least 6-10 more weeks

I do have a way touse AoE Specials with Fencer but comparing profs to profs is really impossible. I only have the 4440 Fencer to enhance Carbineer and don't even carry a Fencer weapon with me Yes that's right, no girly Stun Baton for me

As a strictly Carbineer fighter I have no AoE Specials.....all Carbineer multi-target specials are Cone Effect.

BTW, where is that STICKY button again......or at least the EDIT button for a STICKY post.....
