Thread: Powerleveling Carbineer

Yes, of course, the holocron made me do it.

I mastered rifleman in 4 days using the following technique:

Master CH, send 2 graul maulers into a Gurk lair on Lok. They can be had as missions. The grauls on the lair attract all their attention for the most part. Occasionally, one of the gurks will leave the lair and come after me. Fine, I let them incap me. My ch heals me and I'm back in business. Gurks gave me 4k exp each and don't db. Each lair was worth about 50k in rifle for me. I was getting about 400K exp per hour.

I used flushing shot 2, which is a cone attack that does massive damage. I know carbineers get the same type of shot and I will be leveling to that first.

4 days later, master rifleman. I could have done it in 3 but I am the leader of one of the biggest guilds and biggest cities on the server and between the tells, teamspeak and the fact that I get junk experience on my nightly guild hunts, I lost a day.

I used a T21. In dps, it paled to my godly krayt laser, but the armor peircing was well worth it. So I guess for carbineer, I want to try to get my laser carbine to 500+ damage. I used to make 267 damage laser carbs (no stock)when I was a WS. I have +60 tissue, so I could have it made to about 327.A 35% slice will add more than 100 and a 33% damage powerup should get me close to 500.

One graul mauler would be able to handle this job just fine. However, multiple pets seem to be a much greater distraction. Ideally 3 gsps would be better.

Would this technique work for carbineer? Is there something more equitable than what I did in rifle? Does the inherent cone attack on the ee3 work now? What specials should I be using?

Thanks in advance.

Hello there, fellow Gorath citizen. Eryn GreyWolf, lowly Carbineer by choice. Actually, you can probably repeat that formula with this class, with one fairly large exception. Your HAM costs are going to put you down FAST, if you have one that does decent damage. Your Laser Carbine will do nicely, but if you can get Doctor buffed, you'll be ahead of the game there. If not, take a whole lot of adv stim b's, or preferably a Medic to heal you, cause you're gonna need ita lot if you're using specials (which you will). I have a damage sliced DH-17 as my primary carbine. Speed is around 2.2, damage is around 99-200, and a little -214 floats above my head anytime I fire off a Full Auto Single 2 (which you probably don't have yet).

HAM costs will be your problem, not the actual leveling. When you get Full Auto Area, throw your pets into the fray as you did before and spray the area. Heal about 5 times intermittedly between start to finish. Repeat on next lair. Have fun. Well, try to.

That sounds like a plan, you've got that master CH advantage but what the guy mentioned about HAM costs is very true.

I powergrind carbineer combining my doctor skills for buffs, and my fencer skills for dizzy, which pretty much means i'm going after the two legged mobs.

The attic was less to us from the cellar the bones like the attic let them have it let them stay in the attic. When they sometimes come down the stairs at night and stand perplexed behind the door and headboard of the bed brushing that chalky skull with chalky fingers with sounds like the dry rattling of a shutter. Thats what I sit up in the dark to say.

Actually, I run both accounts at the same time. My CH also has a ton of medic. I'll never run out of health.

I realize this formula isn't exactly a turnkey solution for most, but it is what I plan to do.

Thanks guys.

Sounds like it should work fine. I've been doing piket longhorn missions out of imp outpost on dantooine, admittedly I have to use an at-st for protection, but I only have tat sunburns for buffs... not getting as much xp as you, but around 700-800 in 5 or 6 hours.

Not only will you find the HAM costs extraordinarily bad, but also nearly every special is broken too. Use BurstShot1 till you get CrippleShot, and ChargeShot1 when you need to KD stuff. every other special is practically useless, although WildShot1, ScatterShot1 and FullAutoSingle2 aren't too bad, they really don't do enough damage for theHAM cost. LegShot3, BurstShot2, WildShot2, ChargeShot2 are all busted, so dont even consider using them.

The best solution if you can find a way to implement it, is to give your laser carbine to the enemy and let them shoot you with it. I guarantee you will kill them much quicker that way.

I don't see HAM costs being that much of a problem in my case. I have crates of good food and drink, lots of drugs and I will always be buffed. Plus my ch will be healing me constantly.

My real question is what is the special that hits multiple targets and how well does it fare if I have no fear of HAM costs. Flushing shot 2 was amazing. Riflemen that cry that they are so underpowered need a hanky bad. FS2 wiped out all the Gurks at a lair so quickly, I considered having a third person join me just so I could get more missions at once.

Am I really going to be using that big combination of attacks to take each creature down or am I going to take a lair out much faster hitting multiple targets at once?

The cone shot for carbineer comes at Expert Carbine Special Abilities--the slowest column you can get. FlushingShot2 is great for rifles, but you have to get high up in carbine before you can have the cone shot. And FullAutoArea doesn't have the damage amplification that FS2 has. Unfortunately.

I've been killing Mutant Baz Nitches on Dathomir for decent xp. I can do those solo with just my Rock Beetle pet. Giant Baz Nitches are just a little more xp, but took a lot longer until just recently. Finally at 2/4/1/4, I can kill stuff with relative ease. Carbine sucks at first, but eventually it's not that bad.

The nice thing about carbine over rifle is that the mind takes very little drain. Most of the HAM cost is in action, with health being the secondary drain. A doctor buff = no HAM problems.

Good luck, Wasabi. Maybe I'll see you around on Gorath!

The Ch nerf is quickly approaching. Enjoy your abuse and misuse of animals and the consitent faliure of the Devs to make this Uo to your advantage sir. In a few weeks all youll have is your worthless Kreetle and a array of skills you posses which you know not how to weild.

Wildshot2 is AOE, but its not really good

as for CH nerf, well thats why we're gonna use those lowland salt mynocks, only creatures under cl40 with AR and pretty good resists (i think they disease too), or one of the myriad of formerly extinct creatures that just happen to be really really badass.. can anyone say merek harvester?

How did this get all sideways?

Skills I don't know how to use? Carbineer, perhaps. I have no intention of staying a carbineer.

My other character (I run both accounts at the same time) is a master CH, so I will be stepping on kreetles to solo Krayt dragons you pompous moron. I just downloaded the patch and I am perfectly prepared for the nerf.

Back to carbineer. Full auto area 1 is working quite well. For those of you that are looking for a more time-effective means of leveling in carbineer, holocron or not, the strategy I outlined above is the best I have found so far.

I'm also changing from Rifleman to Carbineer, because of a holocron and the fact that I ain't droping BE after that grind.

The good thing is my combat experience has been maxed at 300k for some time so that one line will jump up there pretty quick in my case.
