I just achieved both MTKA and MCH today. While I am pleased with both, I feel like I now have no use for my pets. I will always remaina MCH, however I am wondering if it could be a bit "funner" using carbines instead. That way I have a combat profession that compliments my,uh, other combat profession. Thanks in advance!

Carbineer is a great compliment to CH. The Cone Effect Specials are perfect for taking out Mobs that collect on your pets.
In fact any Ranged Prof will work better than any Melee Prof with CH.....

Ok i SWEAR i didnt just copy ur "template" TA.. i decided a while back to come back to SWG and do 2 profs that are rare.. carb/ch yes ch is very useflull for lvling carb.. i would go to endor with my BE cat with 12k+ ham embolden and maybe buffs(which arent too usefull for pets..esp if changing planets) make him attack a merek air or bark mite drons(i think) lairs and just spam away FAA2 to the creatures that popped out and attacked my pet.. HELLA xp Hella fast.. but u might wanna have a lil armor and/or buffs as some spawns aggro u and not ur pet

I remember being a Carbineer/MCH before the Publish 5 nerf. Area attacks and 7 support crew. Damn, what a team. I was a nekkid wookiee and could wander Dantooine without any major concerns, except my petstim supplies and faction trooper Mind damage, or the occassional Force Sensitive mob.
Carbineer KD attacks also enhance pet effectiveness by adding the posture attack/damage bonus to all of your support crew. If anything, it makes pets even more powerful, since they don't have to break stride like we do in order to take advantage of the postured down or knocked down target. Factor in the new pet specials that can Dizzy, KD or apply states, and its a natural supplement to our own ability to do the same.

Yeah, my pets saved by Padded armored ass when I encountered a Nightsister type I couldn't damage with my carbines.

When they work, yes, unfortunately BE'd pets have the worst AI issues. That kills CH almost as much as the damned nerfs.

Interesting.....my BE Pets do just fine.....go attack lair, let me kick some serious arse with FullAutoArea2 and BurstShot2.....seems to work great for me

Maybe its just the way the BE'd pets I used before were crafted, but I had major problems with them bolting off into the sunset after an aggro that pulled them away.
Part of the reason I still keep a six combat module R3 with me. 6k HAM and it doesn't run till its down around 100 points in any bar. It gets hurt worse for lack of armor, but it at least tries to tank.
