Please check out this link for info on a possible new HAM system. This is similar to the experimental one seen on TC in last 2003.

If you have general comments, post themin that thread.

If you have Carbineer-specific comments, pleasepost them in this thread.

I like it! I can understand it being tricky, since its essentially creating a "shadow HAM" system.

I still don't see how this will help "much". Yes it's true that with this system you will not be able to kill yourself while unbuffed. However, if there are no changes to the cost of carbine specials, you will still only be able to pull off a few shots before your "specials" bars run out. As it stands now, with good damage on a carbine (non-krayt), the cost of specials is very high. Experimentating on this, I've managed to run myHAM down to near 0 on 3-4 shots. Instead of killing myself, it seems I will just run myself down to near-ineffectiveness in a very short time, even while buffed. I still feel there needs to be a change to the actualy costs of certain types of specials, mainly carbineer.

They aren't trying to make it where you can do MORE specials.. they are trying to make it where you do LESS specials.

Which would be fine if everyone else was in the same situation. Right now, they aren't. Yes some of them do have high costs on certain weapons, but almost every carbine and special has a very high cost. An unbuffed pistoleer can spam about 10-15 specials before running the HAM down. As a commando with various flame throwers, HAM wasn't even a concern for me. The cost was very little compared to thedamage I was dealing (unbuffed in heavy armor). My point is that every profession needs to be brought in line together. Carbines are very high, I just think that needs to come down some.

Is this going to be one of the band-aid fixes or just a preview of the revamp after JTL?

You need to find better buffs and some brandy/canape

You need to read the message on the link provided in the first post. The "soft cap" on the new HAM bar means that your "specials" bars would run down whether you have buffs or not.

But buffs to Secondary Stats could reduce the usage rate of the "specials" bar.....

This is In Concept stuff, barely a chicken scratch on the back of a napkin....

This system was already on TC. I wont take THAT long to re-impliment the system and publish it. This would be a good band-aid fix.

It will take a long long time to implement, because they basically said how a HAM change is so radical, with so much code, in-depth sequences it would only take a major publish to do.
