I am fairly new to TKA and was wondering what method of "pulling" mobs do most of you use, do you dabble in some type of Marksmanship in order to pull from afar, or do you just run in kamikaze style?
Thanks,

Pulling aggro mobs is pretty easy. You just have to know at what range they will engage you.
Example:
Enraged Rancors will start their attack at 25m. Select the nearest Rancor, walk towards him... carefully watching his moves. Once he comes after you... RUN! Be sure not to hit him as long as other Rancors are nearby or they will help him (or sometimes they willfight each other... but that's another topic :smileywink![]()
This also works great with Giant Baz Nitches, Kamurith Defilersand every other red-dot on your radar. You should have your VK equipped when

Waaah.. I know why I rarely post. These forums drive me crazy!
Be sure to use VKs, they will decrease your attack range and will help you to avoid unwanted attention of mobs nearby.
That's it! sorry for tripple posting :-)

Infamez gave you the artistic way of pulling ![]()
By my side I use a republic blaster ( no cert needed ) to call the beast.

I've kept some pistols skill and use a bleedshot-1 to pull mobs. I've made a macro that shoots the bleedshot then automatically goes to peace. I then switch to Vibro's and engage mob. With a bleedshot you don't loose any experience to pistol.

with sharnaffs i found i could run past one and attack with vb's at last minute keeping running, and only one would follow me
then i tried this against a herd of pikets on dantooine........ didnt work as well lol was promptly spanked in seconds hehe so erm dont try it
i do like the idea of using a republic blaster though
thanks

DXR6 Carbine (for the 65 m range) and use Critical Shot. It will snare giving you time to switch to your dmg dealer weapon and then you can KD when the snare wears off.
Dont use any AOEs unless you know you can handle them, and try not to pull mobs that mass aggro when they are near each other. Nightsisters do that a lot, but they wont if you are carefull about it.

Also, some people like to pull with a Rifle such as the Laser Rifle, decent dmg and 65 m range isnt bad either.

Another trick for Pulling that I've seen reliably work.
Stand back, and have a Pet or Droid attack a single target. When the target starts to chase after your Pet / Droid, have it use the Follow command on yourself. This brings it back to you and with its pursuer following it. Once the target is safely away from its group, your guys can pummel the living bejeezus out of it.
