I've been Carbineer for a while now and I'm not seeing any improvement. I didn't grind through it, I leveled like I should but I'm doing the same damage as I was at Novice as I am at Master. /salute

If your dealing the same damage at master as you were at novice then you got some problems.

nah...damage is the same. I am a non-speed capped (no BH or tapes)+60 master carbineer and as much as I love the profession (the concept, weapons, animations, image, specials, etc) I still use the same speed sliced weapons I did when I was a novice and I still use the same novice highest DPS special (Full auto Single 2)

hopefully +12 FS ranged speed will make it a little bearable until speed is fixed.

FA2? What about cripple? What about scatter? Use FA2 to lands states then switch to something better. But I agree with the other guy. If you do the same DPS as you did with novice as a MCarbines then you have some issues. Then again you just might THINK you're doing the same but in reality are much better off.

The only other ranged profession worth getting (non-BH) is rifleman. Pistols without BH is crap even with the DE-10. Otherwise you can go be another TKM/Fencer_clone_01.

Actually, even at Master FAS2 is a higher DPS shot (by only 8% though)....unless you have a 1.0 Speed Carbine....

Master level can be frustrating, but it all depends on attitude and play style. Carbineer is most certainly not for the masses....but those of us that prefer tactics over button smashing and I WIN button love this prof.

Sorry to see anybody go, but this game is about having fun.....if Carbineer is not fun then drop it immediately.

No shame, you did the work, you made master, you hung in there and served in the trenches. No shame in saying enough if its not working for you.

Well is any other profession differnet? So your telling me if i was a pistoleer and used body shot 2 when i was a novice and then used it when i was master with the same stat gun it would do more damage? More damage over time yes, but not more damage per hit. Last i checked tk was the only profession that gives damage mods.

Yes other professions are different. I am anovice rifleman (2-0-0-0, no extra speed mods)shooting a 3.5 speed laser rifle. I'll doa headshot3 once every4-5 seconds for about 1,700 damage with a speed sliced rifle.

I am amaster rifleman, use a damage sliced 5.6s laser rifle, shooting a headshot3 every 1.1 seconds for 2,000 damage.

See the difference? If Rifleman = Carbineer then in the current situation I would still be using the 3.5 laser rifle and still be spamming headshot2.

With carbineer I am master, using the same 2.1-2.8 speed carbines, and using the same Full Auto Single 2 (my highest DPS special at that speed) to do the majority of my damage. Crippling shot is waay to slow (3 second gap with certain weapons) and some specials with a damage sliced weapon I'll have 4 seconds between specials. Sure I do use other specials, full auto area, charge shot, posture down moves inbetween...but I don't really have the freedom to do serious damage.

If I miss 2/10 crippling shots I waste like 6 seconds of time..If I can shoot 3-4 full auto single 2's in that period of time I'd do that instead.

I do not have the same DPS from novice to master (I bet the gap is really small if you compared novice speed sliced and master damage sliced tests), but I still feel like a novice when I equip a 4.0 or 3.6 carbine and attempt to do specials with a higher delay modifier.

Yea, you did more damage at master than you did at novice 2/0/0/0 is because your using a damage sliced weapon! you just said so yourself.....sooo whats your point? I already know that a damage sliced weapon does more damage than a speed sliced.

And i get 1 stared for somethign dumb.

the point is carbineer skills lag behind the other professions when singled out (same with pikeman). I should be using the best weapons and a variety of my specials fairly quickly but thats not really the case, neither is the difference between novice and master thatgreat to me.(afterall a master should be just that...a master.) I know the topic has been discussed 1000 times about speed and such but I was just relating to the original poster because I believed I had some thoughts in common with him.

thats why I was extremely excited and overjoyed when I read nova's post about the convention and the upcoming combat changes and the future of carbineer.

I have a backpack full of carbines I'd love to use (like my %34 Damage sliced Nyms) but I can't.

best advice for the depressed carbineers - hang in there!

(Even the BH Correspondant said after the combat changes people will want a reason to master BH and that all trees (including LLC) will be useful in PvP...so this means big things.)
