IF you read the thread about the combat devs ideas, were going to get fixed, or at least our speacials and ham costs will be. This is a great day and if you havent checked it out yet check out the dev tracker, lots of good changes and ideas

Pb is when? I hope that it will be before christmas.... Devs are nice to say 'ok, we will do that...' but are really slow to apply

the only fix we're getting is HAM costs... NOTHING ELSE!!! no special fixes, no elite carbine fix, and while its too early to say for sure (they didnt give the exact cap for carbineers) they may be nerfing us with the speed fix (unless our cap stays at 1).

Yeah... we just get the shaft once again. They say they're going to lower special ham costs and they're going to "look into" legshot3 not working... meanwhile they are lowering the speed cap on pistols from 1 to .5 which means all those pistols will be firing twice as fast as they are now.

My reading of the combat thread was :


Carbineers will get reduced HAM costs. Well about time.


Carbines will be made even slower, and not get any significant damage increase to our weapons though some of our specials will do more, whereas pistols will be made faster with no damage decrease or drop in damage to the specials, so pistoleer will out gun us even more.


Maybe I'm to much the pessimist.

Not at all Solth. You have a fair grip on the reality of the situation. I may, however, go a step farther and say this:


We are going to NERF your carbines by making them slower. Then I would LIKE to lower your HAM costs.


So. If the speed "fix" happens first, how long will it be after that before our HAM costs are lowered. So if these fixes are spread out over the course of two patches, I'll be handing out candy to trick-or-treaters around the time our HAMs are lowered.



The sweeping changes to combat post is only good in that it shows us, to some degree, we are being considered. Now its time to be told to what degree that consideration is.

To me Carbines Should be the Fastest weapons in the Game, I mean they are a Sort of Assault Rifle/Machine Gun, Pistols are single shot weapons that are not automatic,they should not be faster they should have a better accuracy damage but by no means have a Higher speed than a Carbine.

Carbines should be fastes, since technically it's a machine gun and it shoots faster, but this is a game. And also they posted that the HAM costs on the guns were the problem, so I am hoping that they fix the carbine for lower HAM and higher DMG/SPEED.... all I need really, don't really care if the specials work... because most of them do if used right.

Why should machine guns be fast? Look at the names of the moves -- fullauto, burstfire, etc.


Guess what? Each of those moves represent several actual shots. So yeah, we fire fast, it just tallies several shots into one line of damage, and we just get to choose moves more slowly than pistols, since ours involve firing bursts of several shots each .. but the bursts take longer than the individual pistol shots, despite each shot in the burst being faster.


Make sense?

You guys are all complete morons, did you not read the post at all?

Q SPECIFICALLY said that .5 is just a hypothetical number for pistols. The point is, pistols will be the fastest, followed by Carbines and Rifles.

He also said that along with lowering the HAM costs, if they raise the speed cap, CARBINES AND RIFLES WILL BE GIVEN A DAMAGE BONUS WITH IT.

This update will be FANTASTIC, and Bounty Hunter dabblers who went up 2 pistol boxes for Eyeshot will be severely punished when they nerf it by replacing it with a weaker ability then putting Eyeshot at Master BH.
