Thread: Pistoleer is now going to be made godly in duels.

They are fixing the speed caps. Pistoleer will be able to fire at someone .5 seconds and Rifles at 3 seconds according to the Devs. We must be somewhere in the 1.5-2.5 speed I'm guessing since the word CARBINE isn't in the paragraph. A Bounty Hunter using Eye Shot could wreak havoc on us. Not only that, a Pistoleer with Stopping or Fan Shot could as well...Saying it this way, it sucks. We are being nerfed. Though I did mange to get the HAM petition noticed (somehow, can you belive the Dev's look here!?) they decided to nerf us and make all other professions better.

Forgot to mention how Eye Shot was being looked into and possibly moved to Master BH.


Also said "Any weapon that has it’s attacks slowed down due to the speed cap will have a commensurate damage increase to go along with it." So carbines won't be as fast anymore, but will become more powerful shot per shot compared to a pistoleer.


When talking about melee dmg modifiers "carbineers, if I lower the rifleman penalty, I’ll probably lower your penalties too."


Then talks about the Ham costs "Once we implement the speed limiters for all classes, I would like to reduce the HAM costs. This could be done by modifying new weapons, the actual move data, or a combination. I’m not sure which is the best approach, but I’m leaning towards modification of the moves as it will be less disruptive for existing weapons."


Everything is being looked at, Ham costs may be lowered, less dmg from mobs at melee range, and increased dmguponthe implementation of the speed cap.

The game, with respect to pistols, is quickly fundamentally breaking. Since pistols use less components to make, the weaponsmiths on my server are now mass produce advanced versions of pistols that rival the damage of carbines. This just cannot be done with carbines or rifles because using 1 of the components, while increasing damage, it decreased other stats. This is acceptable for pistols because they are easy to cap speed on. However, for carbines or rifles, they have to add multiples of these components and the result is a weapon that too slow (since the effects stack with respect to negatives). This is a complete fundamental flaw in the game that favors pistols.


With this speed cap, carbines are going to have to have double the damage and rifles triple the damage. As soon as the Devs do that, they will have turned carbines and rifles into heavy-weapon type damage and as such I do not believe they are going to do that. Look it it this way, if they increase the cap on carbines from 1.0 to 1.5, they need to increase the damage on carbines by 50%.If they increase the cap to 2, they need to double the damage. Ready to see what that does?


current laser carbine = 25 - 250


"1.5 cap laser" = 38-325 After a 25% damage-slice and a 25% powerup, 60 - 507


"2.0 cap laser" = 50-500 After a 25% damage-slice and 25% powerup, 78-781


Crippleshot coming out of a 78-781 laser is gonna be hitting for 585 - 5800 (average of almost 3200). BTW...an average of 3200 is 800 after the 75% reduction. I can't wait to kill reds in 2-3 hits like commandos. You ready for that?


Doing anything less than the above is a nerf to carbines.

It certainly doesnt matter to me. Almost everyone I know that does pvp and is serious about it has a hunt gun and a pvp gun. The pvp gun is always powered up. So yes it might decay a bit faster but who cares since its a pvp-only gun?


Hell...my pvp carbine loses about 5-7 durability per powerup (thats 100 shots). At that rate, a 900/900 carbine will hit 100/900 after 114 powerups (assuming losing 7 durability per powerup). Thats 114,000 powered up shots. If you assume the current speed cap of 1 sec, thats 114,000 seconds of pvp or 1900 minutes or over 31 hours of constant pvp.


You don't seriously think this is a major issue do you?

Pistol has lower DPS. Carbine hit for 500-700 in pvp.. i know ive been hit by it before lol. your guys speed is not an issue as much as your broken skills like ours. Cept you guys could shoot same speed as us once you obtained speed bonus and had higher damage.


you say people make adv pistols.. well DX2 takes 4 power handles but only takes bonus of 1. Thats our ONLY armor piericing gun lol.. you guys get AP 1 and 2.


I only answer in this thread because the .. With respect to pistols.. well if you did youd check out DPS tables. you can see we are outclassed

ya but how long will your carbine last if you are always shooting with a powerup

He also said they might not change the 1.0 to 0.5 because it might cause server lag.

god DPS, whatever.... have u seen an enhanced version of a FWG5??? sliced for 30% dmg it does 60 to 305 dmg at 2.0.... add a mod to it... say 32% max and 13% min.... 70 to about 400... at 2.0 speed....... of course you can make an enhanced version of a carbine but overall, in pvp situations you won't need DPS... 2 shots or so (if they don't have doc buffs)... Pistollers will do 2 specials to a carbineers 1 special... and pvp doesn't take that long with an enhanced weapon...

The Master WeaponSmiths on Starsider are pumping out enhanced FWG5's daily that worry me. Current stats on the good one: 42 - 264 damage 1.6 spd UNSLICED.

Well KD with Dizzy is really the BH, just like Eye Shot is BH as well. And crippling shots at 1 second is also brought to you by BHs.


The only thing going for the riflemen is mastery, when they can fire at 1 second. Which is soon to change and I do feel bad for them.
