If your refering to a combat macro, you really shouldn't have macros for carbineer combat. Its not like rifleman where you just need to make (/headshot3;/headshot3;/headshot3;/snipershot). You have to try to get your states to stick, and you might need to try to KD a couple times, ect.

The only macro I use is something like the following:

/wildshot, /fullautoSingle2, /chargeShot1, /fullautoSingle2(x5), /cripplingShot(x24) I usually initiate one on one battles with this macro, and occasionally it will work perfectly and that macro will kill the other guy, but usually I have to clear it and work from single shots from there on.

I also have a macro that switch's from my carbine to my pike, and vise versa. I really should make myself a more convient /ui action clearCombatQueue macro too.

Not sure if this was what you were looking for, just a few ideas that help me in combat.

I remapped the Enter key on the Keypad to ClearCombatQueue and LOVE it. That is right next to my thumb on my trackball and VERY easy to hit when needed.

That is a good idea THFirehawk.

I have done similar. I redid my keys and asked myself what things do you need to do NOW when you press them? So I took my chargeshot1 and 2 keys and added clearcombatque before those. I did the same for my heal selfmacro, heal other and my cure states macros.

Interestingly enough,when I was just a master with +60 speed I never needed clearcombatque because I would just hit the keys for specials right before I needed them. The reload was slow enough to allow me time to pick my special. However, now that I am up to +83 speed, I needspam several specialsbecause they arerattling off so fast.I quickly found myself stacking too many specials into the que and getting myself into trouble.

I have the various baseline attacks on one second pause timers.

ScatterShot2, FullAutoArea2, and BurstShot1.

I keep ChargeShot2 andAttackon the hotkey (ChargeShot2 for obvious reasons, Attack is my lair tap tool for when I am grinding or harvesting). The speed of carbines I prefer to use keeps the combat que clear enough to insert the desired other commands I might need, like stims, petstims, droidstims, vaserian brandy, vagnerian canape, blue milk, and whatnot.

I also have my primary Pet Commands as macros

/tellpet follow

/tellpet attack

/tellpet attack1 (Special Attack1)

/tellpet attack2 (Special Attack2)

/dump is always a macroed hotkey too.

I have actually had a great deal of success with this set up in PvP and PvE. Sparing me the need to button mash specials, I can focus more on mobility and pet strategy in a firefight. With a fresh stim C loaded, I can work unbuffed through a level 170 Janta Shaman mission (that's typically two Shaman, two Herbalists, two Primalists) using a 1.7 speed EE3 carbine (78-220 damage) without pet support.

In PvP, its REALLY successful when you can focus more on selecting your targets than trying to keep a full que of shots lined up on a carbine where you're firing your shots at the 1 second cap.

Macroing can help you with the gruntwork of fighting, so long as you're still using your brain for the strategy.

Excellent idea My spacebar currently equips a pole and switch's me to my pikeman toolbar! that is sooooo useful in pvp. Also 'v' switches back to carb. I think I will set myself up with a 'b' combat clear macro, since Im usually in that area

Expanding upon the good ideas for keyboard input...

I've set up my client to act in Modal Chat mode, which means I have to press Enter before I can type anything. This allows me to assign macros to each keyboard key and use them with a single stroke. It's a fantastic setup, and though it takes a little while to get used to (you can't just type anymore without healing random strangers or inviting your pet to your group ), it really frees up your toolbar for foods, spices, weapons, and other things you can't activate with just macros.

I have my inputs set up like this... the first command listed is activated with just that key, and the second (if there is one) activated by SHIFT + key:

A: ActionShot1, ActionShot2
S: ScatterShot2
D: ChargeShot1, ChargeShot2
F: FullAutoSingle2, FullAutoArea2
Z: Clear Combat Queue
C: CripplingShot
V: BurstShot1, BurstShot2
Q: LegShot2, LegShot3
W: WildShot1, WildShot2
E: Death Blow, /open
R: Drag Incapacitated Player
T: Steady Aim, Retreat
Y: Rally
U: Form Up
I: Invite
P: /who imperial
G: FirstAid, FirstAid self
H: Heal, Heal self
K: /tellpet kill
L: Loot All
X: /examine
M: Mount, Dismount

I really recommend a similar setup for most people. It affords very natural and smooth access to all your specials and valuable actions.

Wow, I actually get to teach TAFirehawk something? I thought you knew everything...

A better way to loop macros is with the command /macro *name*. So for example with your macro, if it was named "AnnoyingSpam", you might write it as:

/shout Carbineer RULES!!!!!;

/pause 15;

/macro AnnoyingSpam;

This lets you switch toolbars without interrupting the macro, and not take up a valuable toolbar spot. Of course you can also launch the macro using the same command from the dialogue box.

Yeah I do something very similar to this and the Modal cheat becomes second nature quickly. I recommend people give it a try also. Many, many actions can be "automated" with the key mapping feature.

One thing I do differently is that I keep my attacks in the hotkeys and uses keymapped macros to accessweponsform my inventory. For instance:

/ui action toolbarPane05; /ui action toolbarSlot00; /ui action toolbarPane00

This is key mapped to 1 andwill equip my E11 Carbine form pane6 and then prompt me straight to my Combat pane (1).

It's not really any different than what you are doing just a different twist.
