I have gotten my hands on some decent loot; krayt tissues and form-fitting stocks. I have a trusted Weaponsmith to work with. I want to have some carbines made. I plan to use them mostly in PvP, but might also use them in PvE from time to time.
What should I have made? What have you all been happy with?
Thanks!

For the fully prepared PvP battle, a DXR6 is best against a PSG and Ranged Mitigation. When a PSG is not involved, then a Laser or Elite is best for those that still have Ranged Mitigation. And when Ranged Mitigation is not present in the opponent, then use a Laser.
I haven't run the numbers on using a Laser over a DXR6 when a PSG without Ranged Mitigation is used.....
And either the DXR6 or Laser get the most use in my PvE at least for me....but an EE3 is a must for some mobs too.
Or if you are not in a rush, wait for the Combat Revamp

The DXR-6 has become the General Purpose Carbine of choice for PvP, though for the money missions on Dantooine (Jantas and Mokks), an EE3 will pay for itself with a tidy profit in very short order.

i just got my DXR-6 sliced and now i use it as my main wepon because:
A. it looks awsome
B. green lasers
C. acid damage
D.179-287 4.0 speed
E. thats without a PU
F. low mind cost
G. most accurate of my carbines
H. light ap

My DXR-6 is a little differently designed.
5.5 speed, ~140-217 damage, +100 Ideal range modifier.
Great for BH/Carbineers.
I also have a 188-247, 2.0 speed, +10 Ideal range DXR-6.

All experimentation was placed in the Accuracy of the weapon, not the damage. I'm a BH/Carbineer with a few SEAs putting me at 121 Carbine Speed. Its NOT an issue for me.

Hes carbines + BH carbines, hes speed capped. The speed doesn't matter for him.

With Krayt Tissues and Form Fitting stocks, the carbines I get should be fairly fast.
I am thinking I will try out an enhanced dxr6. Does anyone use anything else? Are there new carbines coming out that will make me want to wait?

I have a scoped/stocked DXR6 that is roughly 228-332 that I won on an auction for 700K before people realized that these worked good against PSG's. I have no idea what type of tissues went into this gun, but it is easily my favorite weapon that I have. I find that I basically never miss with this thing with my template, its just a great weapon for me.
I cant imagine there will be any new weapons brought into the game before JtL or more specifically the combat revamp. The CR is providing a nice excuse for no further development of this game at the moment...

There is zero info on new Carbines coming out any time soon. But I am sure we will see some existing ones reworked and/or new ones with the Combat Revamp. Boy I can't wait to get on the Sandbox, but if it comes soon, which I hope, then choosing between JTL and the Sandbox will be tough.....and the FS XP grind a distant third ![]()
