screw dxr6's. You can skyrocket the damage on the laser carbine, and the medium ap makes it the hands down best gun. I havent lost a duel to a carbineer...in fact i havent even been touched, and i never switch out, i always stay with the laser.

OK I don't get this. Some people push the Elite Carb because of Ranged Mit, but the min damage on mine is close to the same as my krayt laser. Add the pups and AP2 and the laser comes out with a higher min damage and a much higher max dmg, so it means on average it will do more damage than the elite.

When the devs change combat they will more than likely change every aspect associated with weapons..including armor and weaponry. It doesnt take much to assume they will bring weapons mor ein line and probably tone them down.


No way to know if they would nerf all equipment created PREVIOUS to the combat revamp (ie. the krayt 600 damage weapon u made a month ago now morphs into a 300 damage weapon) for sure. Youve still got at least 2 months before a combat revamp though, and if you heavily use your weapon it may not last any longer than that anyway.


As for what to get.....if you have enough tissues id get both a laser and a dxr6 made. I would not use them on an EE3 because any advanced EE3 with a good damage slice will handle any of the heat vulnerable MOBs a carbineer would normally use an EE3 on.

Some people just don't get it, do they? /rolleyes


If you want to compare your weapons, download this, add in your weapons' stats, and see for yourself. The numbers don't lie. Yes, lasers are better than others in SOME situations, but not all. Keep in mind, this sheet doesn't take PSGs into account, but you can just multiply the numbers for everything but your DXR6s by 60% (what gets through a PSG) to campare.

You know, reading through this post reinforces why I enjoy this class so much. A carbineer doesnt just select his mostest uberest gun and rush into battle spamming a single attack, they have considerations to make before they engage in battle, or quick decisions to make once the fight is started. Not really adding anything of value here, just repeating how happy I am with this class.

on my server there are acid resist PSG's


so i kinda fail to see where everyone is going with this DXR6 is better than Lasers because of PSG thing


care to clue me in?

That is because most people use better components on a Laser so it is not a fair comparison. I had a whole round of Carbines made with identical materials and the net result was all were within about 2% of each other on DPS.....be sure to compare Apples to Apples.


And actually our recommendation is the DXR6 because of PSG's.

When you experiment on an advanced weapons stock you have 4 bars to chose for experimentation:
1. Damage. Increases the damage/wound chance and decreases the speed modifier of the stock.
I get mine to 40/40 .3 (note: that makes the weapon .3 speed slower, not faster).
2. Durability. Broken, this only works when crafting the weapon itself.
3. Effiency. Lowers the HAM costs of the stock.
4. Range. You can jack up the ideal range mod of the stock (increased ideal range mod of the weapon).

In order to get 40/40 .3 you have to spend all of your points on damage, leaving range usally at +10. Or you can jack up the range mod a lot, but the stock will be like 5/5 .9 w/o experimentation on the damage. Thats how you get +100 ideal range on carbs, but its not practical unless you have +100 speed and can cap any carbine.
