Ok, if you look at my sig you will see the story. I have played since christmas as a dancer/ID, all around ent but also dabbled in carb to have SOME combat skill. Well it's been fun and i am keeping dancer [at least enough to shake the tail feathers and buff some] but have decided i want in on the PvP fun too. I don't know why i picked carbineer back in January but i have kept with it and verrry slowly advanced til i maxed skill points and just let it stay at like 3201 forever. The last 2 weeks i have started surrendering ID and other skills to master carbine.
I am armored fairly well against kinetic and stun, have a crate of lvl 4 PSGsand wear bleed resists and heave plenty of attachments that help carb skills. My laser carbine maxes at 275 damage but is speedy at 2.4 and i have poerups for it that i dont know how to use very well. I'm now 4423 and now i need some help. I have heard/read that we can dizzy/KD by using charge shot when you land a dizzy state but its never worked for me. I have cripple shot but don't really know how to best use it. I do plan on surrendering all my remaining ID skills when needed and think maybe even some dance skills to pick up some defenses from some other combat class soon.
Ok, that's it, im a noob carbineer who's been carbineering for almost 8 months. Please help me with some advice on how to play carbineer smartly. I'm not trying to be lazy and am currently trolling this board to read up on past advice I have missed. Any advice would be helpful, thanks in advance

Damn I wish i were a carbineer so i could help ya, but alas I think your template right now is kinda cool... not too often you meet a dancer/ID who can kick some ass.

Well the questions asked here are kinda broad in scope and difficult to answer. Obviously reading all the STICKY posts is the first place to start.
Specific answers require specific questions....I have both a PvE and PvP Carbineer with all the best "stuff" an unlimited bank account can buy. The only area that I do not have personal experience in is adding BH to the Carbineer template, but there are dozens and dozens of people here with that experience
I have found Carbineer/Fencer/Pistoleer with Novice Medic and 1000 Scout to be a fabulous PvP template. Of course right now the only I WIN profs are CM (not for long hehe) and Jedi. Rifleman is pretty good but IMO a SMART Carbineer can beat 90% of the people out there. But this assumes neither side has full armor or NOBODY can win....
Feel free to contact me in-game if you can catch me online in SWG instead of Civ 3

The questions seem straightforward enough to me..
Chargeshot doesn't Dizzy people at all, it does Knockdown.
Fullautosingle makes people Dizzy (in addition to Blind and Stunned), but it's not 100%
Crippleshot is fantastic when facing a single foe. If they're KD'd when you hit them, it does even *more* damage.
If you're facing multiple foes, use Burstshot (as opposed to Crippleshot). It does a little less damage individually, but you'll hit more than one target.
I think that's everything you brought up.
Carbineer is damn fun, I have to say.

You also mentioned having only a 275 max damage laser. While great for PVE, you might look into getting a higher damage laser carbine for those pesky melee people with no ranged mitigation.

that brings up another good question ihave...i have heard about these uber carbines but never seen any up close. When stalking, er, i mean talking politely to a master weaponsmith regarding a special order, and then later to a slicer, is there a particular stat combo that is A) possible to attain, and B) under a million credits that is a reasonably good PvP weapon for me? Are there particular components that i will need to find for that person beforehand to make it happen?
Thanks btw for the positive, helpful comments

You need Krayt Tissue and Imp Stocks to go with crafted Adv. Scopes to make a Carbine top of the line.
Be sure to Speed Cap any weapon you use, via slice, powerup, or SEA's.

"Under a million creds" really depends on the prices for things on your server.
I don't believe I'd every charge that much for a carbine, unless the cost of acquiring the components pushes me up to that.
Reagardless:
A standard Laser Carbine should be able to hit around 300 max.
Even base Krayt tissues will push that up 30 points.
A 30% slice (damage) would hammer that up to over 400 max damage.
Note that such a carbine wouldn't be all that fast, not without the Imperial Stocks that TAFirehawk mentioned.

And honestly I use the Speed Mod of the Krayt Tissues, not damage.

I Have tried BH carbines, never gunna change that template
Dizzy knockdown without BH carb would require:
Fullautosingle ( a few times to be sure of getting dizzy)
then I suggest Actionshot 2 (posturedown may cause knockdown but if not it makes a knockdown easier to get)-you may want to get a friend to help you test this and
decide whether to use it
then chargeshot
follow this with high damage shots like cripplingshot
Dizzy knockdown with BH carb (this will knock them down and keep them down for a very long time):
Confusionshot (the dizzy from this lasts a long time)
Actionshot 2
Fireknockdown
Now spam Cripplingshot
I have tried several secondary professions (never dancer) and only 2 have worked well for me, Combat medic (yeah anyone can kill someone after mind poisoning them) and Bounty Hunter x4xx. The important thing I find with any carbineer template is to have good burstrun efficiency. This is not a profession any defence stacker will want to use, so go for hit and run tactics using burstrun and terrain negotiation to get out of tight spots don't bother trying to build defence into your template.
If you haven't worked it out a Master Carbineer with BHx4xx has melee defence of about 3. Despite this I will happily duel any melee prof except swordsman safe in the knowledge that they will be doing backflips long enough for me toincap them and they will be unable to land a hit.
As for your choice of weapon, I would always go for the Elite rather than the Laser in order to reduce the effect of ranged damage mitigation. If speed is an issue however I find that an EE3 is also worth considering but does lack armour penetration. I have owned Krayt enhanced carbines but the problem there is you tend to only get them one at a time and can often waste the money when you get a poor slice. I prefer to buy a crate of guns and select the best ones after they are sliced, this tends to be cheaper and often gives better results.
Hope some of this is useful

And how does ActionShot help land a KD?
ConfusionShot Dizzy lasts 50% longer, 10 seconds....
And it has been well proven that my Carbineer/Fencer/Pistoleer Defense Stacker template CAN NOT be Dizzy/KD'd by a BH or anybody else....so that won't help you beat this defense stacker that carries a Carbine
But of course I can Dizzy/KD you every 30 second muhahaha.....
Once these last CM nerfs get to LIVE, I firmly believe (excluding Jedi) that I will have one of the strongest PvP templates......but no template can crack 85% Comp with sliced PSG, food, buffs and even dumb tactics....

Interesting build. The above post seems to answer your questions. What I would add is that cripplingshot has a high HAM cost with it so if you find yourself unbuffed in a fight you might want to stay away from it. If you want to become a force in PVP it is imparative that you get the speedcap asap, at 90 speed you will cap almost any carbine. If you have the funds you can purchase the SEA's or if not you can pick up the BH carb. line. Unfortunately, unless you do this you will be a support player in PVP. As for the pu's I'd say that on wepons fast enough to shoot oat the cap go for Max/min damage and on you slower guns use max speed/min damage. Be sure to get a DXR6 and an EE3 at least for the acid and heat damage types. If you going to be a serious carbineer you will want all the wepons as each has it's role. Good luck, carbs are not an easy wepon to use you must apply your mind and use tactics to will. However your victories will be all the more satisfying because of it.
