NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO
My fav IDer/dancer is turning out to be a stone cold killer
Well hun, if you want to fight for the glory of the imperial army, i suggest just dropping ID first while you continue to master carbine. Stick with the speed sliced weapons till you can get the attachments. I dunno how much pvp you've done, but the jist of it is to dizzy then posture down or knock down the other person. Then pommel him all the while trying to stay alive. Each opponant will be different and i believe the best targets for you will be those with no range mitigation. Against range profession it's who can out damage who the fastest. Usually it's rifleman winning.
As for specials to use... read this;

The beauty of carbines is all the pretty stat effects you can place on your target. Might consider picking up novice brawler for intimidate too...
dizzy---makes a player roll to fall on a posture change-works great for everyone
intimidate---lowers damage and defense mods like counterattack/dodge/block-works great for everyone
blind---lowers accuracy
stun---lowers defense as well as keeps zabraks from using equalibrilum.-works great for everyone

This will start you off in the general direction. You should try to duel people who are pvpers too so you can get the feel for combat and how fast or slow it can be. Practice makes perfect.

No the person clearly said that ActionShot will help land a KD shot, which is very wrong....and DUH I have played this game more than 2 days and know what a PD does, in fact that is my main Dizzy/KD move myself.
Sorry if I am being picky, but noobs to Carbineer can easily get the wrong impression if we are not clear.
BTW, my Carbineer/Fencer/Pistoleer has +70 Def vs. Posture Down
muhahahahahaha

The new people to carbineering may not want to take TAFIreHawks approach to carbines, besides the fact that he doesn't have dancer as his secondary profession he also spends an exorbitant amount of money on SEA's or Skill Enhancing Attachments. Alsobe sure andtake us bounty hunter dabblers with a grain of salt too.
Here's my experience as a ranger/carbineer, which will be a little less experienced than you can be in weapons use. When you come upon a white conPvE target, go prone. This will be against what a lot people will say, which is to keep moving, but there is a point. While prone you can use crippling shot fairly quickly to down a PvE target sometimes even before they notice you or notice they are taking fire. If they do notice you, use actionshot to posture down them and then you'll want to stand and work on some quick strategy which is a couple full auto area's so you can hit them with a dizzy and hopefully a stun before they get to you, and then a charge shot to knock them down. Then just cripleshot away and you should have them finished.
The main trick to carbineering is to keep the hostiles out of Melee range since you'll have basically no defences against getting hit with something such as a powerhammer. Good kinetic composite will help there some.
Also something that I don't think anyone else has touched upon but I've seen a lot from myself and friends is the tension/anxiety you may feel when blasting someone else in PvP. I always explained it to myself that I didn't want to grief anyone else or make them upset. The most important thing to know is that if you're overt and they are, they made the same choice and better be prepared to clone, so justtake a few deep breaths andtryto relax, they're having fun even if they're getting plastered.

The skill mods are horribly underpowered in pure Carbineer....so everybody has two choices, buy SEA's or pickup BH to be even a decent fighter. Back when I started down a path, the BH's needed Master Scout and I had just got done making 10's of millions of creditsas an Architect for over 5 months.....so the choice was easy for me.
Those that can follow my template will find having 90% the offense of BH/Carbineer and 90% the defense of a pure Melee defense stacker is quite rewarding
And it is my duty (as Master Devil's Advocate) to point out to all the FotM BH/Carbineers that coming across a well prepared and skilled template with defenses will quickly and easily be surprised at the utter lack of a quick win or win at all for the BH/Carbineer.

No offense TA, I have a ton of respect for the calculations you've figured out for carbine speed, and it was one of the reasons I wanted to go after BH in the first place. But you don't need to brag about it.The question was from an ex-dancer/image designer, and someone who has stated plans to keep dancer. Last time I was dancing I know I wasn't making a lot of moneyk, and definately not enough for expensive SEA's.

/sigh Yeah, ur right. I get along ok moneywise but the most i have ever had at one time was 1.5 million. It seems like if "all" you do is spend time for someone's buffs or migrates or whatever, people don't respect that as being worth credits. I find it hard to continually explain that as none of the in-game commodities are "real", and that in reality TIME is all any of us spend in this game for anything (not counting of course the RL currency we pay to SOE), my time is as worthwhile as anyone elses. You would think that the people actually carry real live stim packs in their RL pockets the way some folks carry on, lol!
Anyway...while some of the comments are a little over my head, i am studying and have this stickied so that when i keep reading and learning what you have all said will become clearer. Thanks so much for all your advice and please keep it coming
Oh! BTW, i just made 4433!

All I was doing was explaining myself to a previous question as to the validity of my methods of developing my templates.....not meant to brag, just explain where I am coming from.....which is not the "average" Carbineer and that the "average" Carbineer does not fair well in the current game mechanics.
In the end the game is about having fun and if that means you want to be at a top level in Combat in this game, well then you have to put forth a commitment in Skill Points and/or Credits to achieve that because there are TONS of others putting forth that effort or finding easier ways to do it, ie NOT Carbineer.....
