im in process of building a tank type char with back up ranged ablities

so far im master fencer, working on master swordsman and would like to take some rifleman skills, heres what im looking at so far, now keep in mind rifleman will not be my main source of damage but a supplement to my melee skills, more of a support line (if i dont feel like meleeing or am too hurt to, in pvp sometimes hard to get in melee range so would be nice to have ranged to at least help out, swordsman is mind dmg oriented pro also, so i thought they would go well together)

master fencer

master swordsman

4-1-0-3 rifleman

novice medic

not real worried bout max dmg with rifle but sniper kill shot is a benefit id like to have as well as conceal, and as much of the speed tree as i can get. any input or suggestions would be appreciated, thx

Rifleman is not a dabble friendly profession. You may want to consider dabbling in pistoleer to augment your fencer skills. Master Ridleman is incredible. Anything below that is not worth the skill points if you aren't going master.

Mega is pessimistic. Some rifle skill can be very useful to a Swordsman. You wont beable to rely on it solely of course but it can be of great help in "clean up" of that elusive kiter In that template you describle you will get 4 mind bleeds..sweeeee. I dont know why you took concealment 1 though......thats 5 pts for conceal shot (i never use) and mitigation 1 haven noticed a significant difference in gameplay since they incorporated that.

I would take rifle special abilites 4 for 2 skill points...you'lll get an extra +10 to speed and +10 to melee defence and save 3 skill pts ...very nice.

You hear ALL the time that rifleman sucks till master....master IS frikin awersome, but the thing that makes is so great is the huge jump in speed which allows you use cannons like the T21 at pistol like speeds.

If you plan to use your rifle for support you can have viable speed with a speed sliced laser or a e11..something a little quicker. Sweee now when they run from your hammer you can reach out and touch someone...in the head....with a frikin laser beam!

yes that my intention basically, to get a couple of extra mind bleeds in (maybe pull or start attack with those), bring em in close and switch to 2 handed sword and start taking chunks (starting with bleeds) outta their heads, if they turn tail and run then switch back to rifle and headshot till incapped, snipe em and move on, i hate chasing and i know not being master rifleman im lacking in alot of ranged skills but that is the basic function of what i want as far as support line. ill prolly use jawa for stun dmg , im not real familiar with E11 tho why is that a viable weapon?

I'd agree with the guy above, don't bother with conceal 1, it will do you no good in PvP, it'd be better to get the extra speed and ranged/melee defense bonuses in the special abilities.

The E11 is a medium armor piercing weapon, it's sort of like the laser rifle, but has a higher low end and lower high end, and also the mind costs are much less. Plus I believe it's the Imperial standard issue rifle

Ya Jawa would be a great choice. I was justrecommending faster rifles cuzusing rifles like the T21 with speeds of like 7.0 -11.0 would be a drag if you didnt have master speed.

Youll do well with 4004 rifleman....You will beable to target the head with all the skills of a master rifleman ceptslower, mind you +70 speed is nothing to snub yur nose at...Youll beable to shoot as fast as those master carbineers out thereBoiled down you will be missing AOE attacks, block, and ranged defense....but your mind dmg dealing will be solid as long as you dontuse an ass slow rifle. Sweeee.

Frikin laser beams in the head....sweeeee.

well, he wont be missing aoe actually, everyone thinks of flushing 2 as the only aoe attack, flurry2 is also aoe, and dizzies too, so, should you have a knockdown, which i believe fencer does, you will be having alot of fun with this

also, missing block isnt really anything at this point, i never block anything and, well, as ive noticed on creatures who block shots, they still damage them.

since you already have master fencer, you know how fun it is! trouble is, it's not a very offensive profession - if i were you (and i sorta am, 'cause i have the same-ish template) I would Master rifleman so you can have some kick@ss 'any place anytime' offense. being master rifleman and master fencer is EXTREMELY fun and versatile. You will fear no mob except the biggest and baddest, and you get mitigation 3 for both melee and ranged from mastering both professions.

the status effects of fencer are very rifle friendly - intimidate, blind, dizzy, lunge1 for posture down, then switch to rifle and flushing2/strafe2/headshot2+3 for the win. works fantastically well. if you learn the timing and get a feel for switching between fencer + rifle weapons/specials you will have a blast in pve and pvp.

(as a side note, something that really helped me was to setup all rifle specials on one hotbar, and fencer specials on another, then just use a macro to switch hotbars and arm a rifle/fencer weapon. works very well. i use control-z to arm fencer, and control-x to arm rifle.).

jawa is very good at any range when you master rifleman (i use it point blank to flush dizzied/postured players for a KD).

t21 is evil against anyone - especially unarmored ppl. G'luck man!

Actually you have 18 Skill Points left.....

I would suggest Novice Medic or 1000 Scout.
