Well... I choose my template shortly after the game came out. Figured Carbineer would go well with Pikeman for action pool damage.

I dropped Pikeman after the CU.. but kept Carbs.

- 50-60m range without those silly rusty-looking cyber arms

- POWER. Over 1000 damage caps with a good amount of speed. I do more DPS (real world, not whats on the gun) as a Carbineer than I ever did as a pistoleer.

- Specials. Major power attack, TWO snares, ranged KD, and AOE attacks.

I first mastered carbs back when NO ONE was carbs, I had to get trained by the skill trainer for every skill lol. I loved carbs back then, but then I went to my first true love pistols and love that. Recently I switched from pistols/bh to one line of carbs with Bh and then decided to drop mcm for master carbs and once again love it. Also I RP as a clone trooper and clones either gotta use carbs or rifles and I hate rifles. On top of all that I am having a double (damage, sac) capped carbine made, just traded some BH armor for a bothan bola carb, and dc-15 and love both guns the bola does MUCH MUCH better than most people make it sound, although I have not compared it to my double capped carb yet, it looks cool and is a really nice gun.

Oh not to mention the mercenary tag, I love it and wear that over any other tag.

When I was on my first 2week trial I thought "what profession would seem nice", I didn't know really anything at all about the pros and cons of different professions back then...I thought carbine weapons might be cool, in the middle range of pistols and rifles.

So it was my first elite profession and I was that way until about... December-February iirc. Then I went Commando. But after the CU and testing and reading about the new systemI thought I'd go back to carbs. And am glad I did, the profession is much better now than ever pre-CU imo. Although... *mumbles about wantingcone KD*

I chose carbineer for my alt because Stormtroopers use carbines.

Because at the time I was a master artisan/master architect, and the group I played with had pistoleers and rifleman. I could get just enough carbineer skills for an area attack, and legshot/position attacks.

I was a Smuggler/ Pistoleer, but all the specials were redundant...

Carbines have the most consistant damage per second (not the DPS number). Action not as bad as rifles/ hvy weapons. Very powerful shots, nice snares.....waaaay more powerful than pistols.

well i think i have the silliest reason of all

i first used a carbine because, At the time, i had some artisan and had just gotten the stuff craft either a CDEF rifle or carbine. so i looked at the two, and the carbine looked cooler IMO so i made that, and the rest, is history! and i was to lazy to change to somethng else

i was a total n00b at the time, so i had NO idea what the diff between the rifle and the carb was, lol. infact, i still have tht first carbine, the very first i ever used

and i fell in love with the carbineer prof, i read about the other profs but i liked the way carbineer worked most of all, so i guess it was good uck that i choose carbineer way back then

The removal of CH and the NGE in general is the dumbest thing a company has ever done. period.
CH deserves to stay, and SOE deserves to be *#&$^#*@ until they are #*&$& and then *#&$ some more!

I chose Carbineer because I became a Carbineer in the last couple months before the Combat Upgrade came on Live.

Carbineer back then can be equated to this: It was a profession people often ignored or even sneered at, until a player who knew how to play it, showed them what it can do.

Carbineer is quite different now, but I stay out of loyalty and that 90% of it works reliably.

Plus, Carbines look awesome in SWG.

Most Star Warsy weapons in the game by far: standard issue stormtrooper weapon seemed to be the E11 carbine so that kind of made the decision for me, although ended up in a Rebel Guild
