Thread: Why you chose Carbineer?
Well... I choose my template shortly after the game came out. Figured Carbineer would go well with Pikeman for action pool damage.
I dropped Pikeman after the CU.. but kept Carbs.
- 50-60m range without those silly rusty-looking cyber arms
- POWER. Over 1000 damage caps with a good amount of speed. I do more DPS (real world, not whats on the gun) as a Carbineer than I ever did as a pistoleer.
- Specials. Major power attack, TWO snares, ranged KD, and AOE attacks.
Oh not to mention the mercenary tag, I love it and wear that over any other tag.
Because at the time I was a master artisan/master architect, and the group I played with had pistoleers and rifleman. I could get just enough carbineer skills for an area attack, and legshot/position attacks.
I was a Smuggler/ Pistoleer, but all the specials were redundant...
Carbines have the most consistant damage per second (not the DPS number). Action not as bad as rifles/ hvy weapons. Very powerful shots, nice snares.....waaaay more powerful than pistols.
i first used a carbine because, At the time, i had some artisan and had just gotten the stuff craft either a CDEF rifle or carbine. so i looked at the two, and the carbine looked cooler IMO so i made that, and the rest, is history! and i was to lazy to change to somethng else
i was a total n00b at the time, so i had NO idea what the diff between the rifle and the carb was, lol. infact, i still have tht first carbine, the very first i ever used
and i fell in love with the carbineer prof, i read about the other profs but i liked the way carbineer worked most of all, so i guess it was good uck that i choose carbineer way back then
Carbineer back then can be equated to this: It was a profession people often ignored or even sneered at, until a player who knew how to play it, showed them what it can do.
Carbineer is quite different now, but I stay out of loyalty and that 90% of it works reliably.
Plus, Carbines look awesome in SWG.
