Thread: A question from a BH

after Master BH and novice Med I will have enough points left over to take another profession to the third level in one tree. For example right now I have Pistol Stances and Grips III for stopping shot (only useful in pvp, really).

So I'm thinking of dropping pistoleer skills and picking up carbineer. I would have enough points to train for Scatter Shot 2, Crippling Shot, Burst Shot 2, or Full Auto Area 2.

What would you recommend? What is best in PvP? I hear a lot about crippling shot. What does it hit for in PvP with an "average" laser carbine (275 max dmg or so like mine, which is sliced for speed)?

Get rid of the spd slice and get a damage with BH carbine 4 you are at a 80% reduction so will be firing at the cap or mighty close to it with any gun.

one BH to another, i'd suggest going with Counterinsurgency 3...counterattack, def vs KD, def vs Intimidate, and /burstshot2 being fired once per second, as well as having a dmg modifier of five.

if you want to go with accuracy, though, you can go with the marksmanship line and gain about +20 accuracy, as well as crippling shot (7.5x damage modifier...meaning...multiply the damage range you see on whatever carbine you are using by 7.5, and understand that further adjustments will be made for res and armor), and /legshot3.

maybe it's just because i've got next to no def, but i am very attracted to the defenses you get, as well as Burst Shot 2.

Simple question, what do Jedi expect from the BH element of the game. Do you want a one sided a fight in which 90% of the time jedi will

win or a 50%/50% in which the best tactics win, or indeed do you want to feel hunted with the odds against you ?

I am curious I have seen lots of what I class as whinging on both sides. As a BH I pretty much ignore jedi except to challenge them 1:1 when

I am particularly bored. I dont use droid bombs as it feels like cheating and have a 100% failure rate (being a range BH doesnt help).

I dont particularly mind losing, I can see that if my experiences are typical how the bad feeling and a lack of willingness to take BH missions

could build up, and I got to wondering if that is what most jedi really want i.e. just tobe left alone free mostly from the threat of being hunted

down.

Thankyou for your time

50/50 1 on 1.

I want a challenge not an impossibility. More than 1 person is fine if say 1 ranged and 1 cm or something that can be a fun fight working out who to go for first. Its no fun if its too easy on either side.

Being a former MBH, and now a jedi. I have always preferred a 1 on 1 battle w/ a bh, or a 50/50 battle. When I used to hunt jedi, I would hunt the same faction so the tef's wouldnt carry and it would remain a 1 on 1 instead of a 1 on guild city, and being a ranged bh... i would usually die.Being jedi now, and not being a knight, I would still perfer the same odds to make it fun and challenging, kinda pointless bringing a squad to kill a padawan

Im a 0022 LS jedi and I have to say there is nothing like the feeling of escaping a bh after he has started shooting at you. However, most of the time.. if the bh gets a shot off on me im dead. I hate having to fiegn anytime I see someone enter the cave im currently in to prevent death, but /shrug there are supposed to be a limited number and they are sposed to be in hiding, so if Im in a cave thats my problem. I can't wait for the day that I will have an even chance vs. a bh.

ameew, you'll see your chances drastically improve when you get techniques 4 and a saber box (one handed, 2 handed or pole) 4.

I prefer one an one to be honest, i got one more buff till MLS. But i like the one on one fight scenario, i never pvp'ed that much on my non jedi characters (melee), i used to pvp with my rifleman and her jawa so all i had to do was just spam headshot. However, kinda need the practise at one on ones with the jedi to get used to what you can actually do to a bounty hunter or two if you get jumped.

Plus, ranged bh's just stick at around 60m lol. Saber throw 2 only goes 33m lol man i've knocked so many people down with that, my NPC escape tool "ouch a mokk at my mission....saber throw 2 and run away!" lol

I personal dont think a BH vs Jedi fight should be a 50/50 chance.

I do however think a "Skilled" (ie experienced player) Master Bounty Hunter should have a chance against a Jedi Knight.

But if you just took a masterBH and a Knight at put them on "Auto fight" the jedi should win every time.

I also think there should be some incitement for a jedi to stay and fight. Today its a lose/lose situation for a jedi. (If you die - you get exp loss, and if you win - your visability just skyrocked) (the last doesnt mather for the Knights - since they are finished with their templet - and doesnt care about visability - another thing i find strange....)

what i want from the Jedi vs. BH relationship is not so much in the battle itself, but a balance of the outcomes. As it stands now, for the Jedi, there are only penelties and no benefits for winning, and penealties for losing... either way, when a Jedi stays to fight a BH as it stands now, win or lose...we still lose.

I can see what your saying dlek, but how would you do that.. make it so the bh loses skills by failing... or give the jedi uber xp by killing him.. both would result bad.

I know next to nothing about jedi xp, but couldnt the jedi get the same reward in jedi xp, that I currently get in investigation XP, perhaps

suitably scaled ?
