Thread: outdamaging a rifleman.

do you think i could outdamage a rifleman on lord nyax from the rifleman missing any shots?
im hoping that with crippling shot and high accuracy any shots they miss will give me the oppurtunity to put in more damage. It's sort of doubtful tho...
this will be with a dxr6 of course.If any carbineer has accomplished OD'ing the nyax campers please let me know.
i have several sets of 6 tissues and im hoping for a 40% damage slice hehe
im really hoping for it on my set of 115's.

Very very difficult, if not impossible... as far as i know nyax has armor rating medium, so even if your DXR6 had the same stats as the rifleman's DXR-6b, he will do twice as much damage... and the stats of the DXR-6b are usually WAY better than those of our DXR6, so any rifleman will most likely do three times more damage... and since our best damage specials (crippleshot) and rifleman's best (strafeshot2) have the same damage mod (7,5x) i don't see any chance at all, unless you have some uber weapons.

I haven't OD'd a Rifleman. That would be very hard.
Done it with a swordsman, pikeman and pistoleer - relatively easy with a krayt laser carbine. But Rifles are going to be hard beating.

well since 35% is max for dmg slice its gunna be hard to get a 40%. its possible to outdamage melee, but with higher AP and much higher damage its not really possible to outdamage a rifleman, but good luck trying

Keep in mind, riflemen arent meant to be out damaged, except maybe by commandos..... Carbineers are meant to hit often, for less damage, and hit groups from a fully automatic spray attack. Rifles are meant to be 1 shot, 1 kill (more or less).
I would worry less about outdamaging that rifleman and be more concerned with keeping his target pinned, dizzy'd, stunned, and KD'd

near impossible
Rifleman with DXR6B (med ap) and /strafe2
you with cripple and DXR6(light ap)
same dmg modifiers and he gets AP2 and most likely higher damage gun

dang i knew the max was 35%, but my friend swears up and down he has gotten 39 and 38%...

It's possible if the rifleman is using headshot and you are using scattershot. I don't know the resists of nyax off hand, but if you are forced to use a DXR6 it will be tough. I have outdamaged riflemen using a Laser carb on the Acklay and on a lot of other mobs, but not with a DXR6.
Definitely use scattershot though. I know that crippleshot and scattershot have the same damage mod, but scattershot is definitely better for getting loot rights. I don't know why, I just know from my own experience scattershot does more damage towards getting loot rights.

It's a lot more possible now that ADKs are out, and I've successfully outdamaged base Riflemen (using base-crafted weapons) with a great Krayt Laser Carbine (my PvP weapon), but any prepared Rifleman will also outdamage you.
Against things with Heavy Armor rating (AR3), it's near impossible, since the Laser suffers a 50% damage reduction off the bat, whereas a T21 suffers none. Add the resists, and then the base damage for say StrafeShot2 vs. CrippleShot, and it becomes increasingly harder.
It's doable, sure, but it's not common, so I wouldn't bet/rely on it.

Using the best laser carbine I've ever seen 130-796, you can get 3472 DPS. A rifleman using a base 30% damage sliced, unpowered up T21 (227-530) has 2838.8 DPS Strafe, 1703.3; with powerup its 3626.3 strafe, 2175.8 headshot. Consider these dont count AP and i'm not 100% sure how that relates to DPS. Since some riflemen use headshot, theres a chance you could OD them if they dont have powerup and you do. I'm 90% certain a strafeshot no-pup rifleman will get you, and 99.9999% sure a pup rifleman with strafe will OD you.

You can outdmg a rifleman....yes say it I'm on crack....try gettin a nym slugger get a speed slice and then get a pup for dmg. I think the slugger is better then the I have seen crafted dxr6. Also remeber its all about speed.

Nope, especially when speed matters the Nym Slugthrower is garbage (not talking about the looks and the sound of course). Every good weaponsmith on any server should be able to craft faster dxr6 carbines that have a higher damage output too... dxr6 beats the slugthrower in all categorys except ham costs and the style.
