Let me make this simple, TA. Do you think a 'master carbineer' should have access to all the carbines in the game? You don't seem to give much assurance beyond 'lets hope..'. Is it in your power to speak to a dev about this, via a specific forum? It's clear where my stance is, and allowing some carbines to be 'multi-certed' across different proffessions will ensure its fair. I ask any carbineer here the same question, so what do you think?

And Bonestrand, while yes you can dabble, the simple fact is you can spend 106 pts (CU cost, but is it set in stone?) to master carbineer, but not be able to use all the carbines in the game. And you'll be hard pressed to have enough skill points to dabble enough to get access to all the carbines, so in my mind, 'master carbineer' can't be a master with carbines, as they can't use all carbine type weapons as defined by the game mechanics. In my first post I also listed the discrepency between skillpoints to master carbineer and skillpoints to be able to 'use' all the carbines. It's a major difference in points.

here is a simple answer, can you me a sniper in the military and still know how to work a bolt action rifle?

just becaause someone is a master of something doesnt mean they know how to work every weapon of that type. a squadleader might be more effeciant with a weapon then carbineer.

Wrong, Bolt Action Rifles are commonly used by snipers. The M24 is an example of that, besides bolt actions are very simple to opperate(not well mind you).

Master Carbineers are masters in the Use of Carbines, We have trained to be able to effectively use all Varrieties of Short Combat Rifles(Carbines).

We([Master] Carbineers, Pistoleers, Rifleman) are like the Real World American Special Forces 18-Bs, we [Master]Carbineers specialize in using all Short Combat Rifles, [Master]Rifleman trained to use all kinds of Long Arm Rifles(Like a Squad Automatic Weapon, Sniper Rifle, Machine Rifle's{Machine guns}), [Master]Pistoleers Trained to be able to use all kinds of Personal Defence Side Arms; therefore it should be other proffesions using Our([M]Pistoleer, [M]Rifleman, [M]Carbineer)Weapons, not we having to dable to use theirs. They are using OAR Carbines, they are trained to use one type of Carbine that we should already know how to use. Pistoleers shoulds Have all certs also, and Rifleman to. Its Logic. LLC's are BH only, while the BH Carbines should be certed From us To them, not the other way around.

We [Master Carbineers]trained for the ability to use all Carbines, [M]Pistoleers Pistoles, [M]Rifleman Rifles.

I have made my points. I agree completely with TA, let him do all he can without us pestering him.

Well... Though I'm a Carbineer, I can't agree with initial post The thing is: in Real Life (RL) same things exist. I used to work with different Special forces and Law enforcment guys - some of them being top specialist in their field, but... but there is always some gear in other profession's field. Like most of elite Special Forces had no chance to wield a gun with silent ammo (not silencer, but the cartriget, with produce no noise while being fired). Why? Because it's top secret in another division of intelligence...

So we have in SWG: Bounty hunters have their top-sect\rets, Commandos too... While Masters of certain Arms (Carbineers, Riflemans, Pistoleers, etc) - are Masters, but of common-type weapons. They can not dig in other's secrets, can they?

Great points.

Like this?

The Carbineers(and Riflemen/Pistoleers also) are Normal Soldiers, not SOCOMs, so the other proffessions might get specialy designed Weapons(Carbines, Pistols) that the Regulars do not use, nor need to, cause they are designed for other purposes.

My idea can work also, and give us double certs. I like my idea more.

But yours is very inteligent and logical.
