It doesnt ingore defenses but at the expense of looking doing a wierd little dance you get a non-timered kd. Of course most of the time they are back up before your next shot hits them but hey you can dance around with your hand in the air.

Action shot 2 does in fact cause multiple targets in a cone to kneel and bleed. Legshot3 is identical in damage, cooldown, and ham cost to legshot2. If legshot3 is every corrected it will be an insane pistoleer killer since it hits the pool they drain so fast.

i made master carbineer over the weekend. i love this class (wish our title was spelled right, though).


when i use either of my scattershots, the combat spam says "1 point of damage", even though it's clearly doing way more than that. i actually use them a lot, because it's a nice special to follow up crippling shot with.


chargeshot2 not only doesn't knock anything down for me, but the combat spam says "NO_GRAMMAR_DATA_" and some numbers and gibberish, so in my estimation it's probably the most broken special we have. of all the problems we have, that's the one i'd like fixed the most. an area knockdown would be some serious crowd control, and there should be SOME reward for acquiring so much combat XP.


wildshot2 seems to work correctly for me, stunning multiple targets. actionshot2 is a mixed bag. sometimes i don't see that it's bleeding any of the targets in the cone.


bottom line is, the best friend of any carbineer is tatooine sunburn. it's the only solution i've found for the insane ham costs, unless you feel like spending 5 or 6k on doctor buffs every time you log in (provided you can find a doctor with good enhance packs, that is). find a good chef to make you up a crate, drink one before you go into battle, and you'll have about 6 to 10 minutes of cost-free specials at your disposal (except for the neglible mind costs our specials have). no "downer" either, like you get with spices.

In my opinion, the carbineer class could use a complete overhaul. When a BH with BH carbine 4 has more bonuses to speed and accuracy with a carbine then a master carbineer, and then over half of the special skills arent working the way they are supposed to, its time to make some major changes.


But thats just my opinion

I don't think there is a carbineer who would disagree with you. However, we don't really need an overhaul, we just need the devs to look at and fix our class. Only once they have fixed it can we analyse it for possible overhaul. However, carbineers have been completely ignored by the devs, and we're likely to be ignored for a long time yet.

There are 2 sides:


cripple: slower, more dmg, higher ham costs


burst: faster, less dmg, lower ham costs


but i think they even out over all. (dmg and ham related)


When youre only carab you should mainly use burst (speed!!!) and ocacionally spam cripple


With the speed bonus from bh cripple goes also fast and do higher dmg (max till now in combat window: 4,9k)then burst.Then you can use cripple more often.


Ill do pve this way: charge - cripple - burst - burst


and for pvp: charge - cripple (to hold him/her down and deal descent dmg)


and for group raids against higher ham npcs or krayts: charge -burst - burst(sometimes i only spam charge to hold enemy down on ground)


In this way i can deal out max dmg and kill most enemys in short time, but youve to heal yourself constantly.


Ive tried also the other specials arround, and sometimes i use AS1 and Scatter 1. The others are imho worthless (dont work as intended, dont deal out descent dmg, 30s timer)

Oh, and as for distinction, that makes me think of "unique" things. I know the chances of getting the devs to give us a brand new status effect are quite slim, but it seems so perfect for carbineers as they are meant to be:


We should have a move that slows down a target. A single-target version and a cone version. That or knockback. The crowd control makes me think of keeping a crowd away from the carbineer. Either a slowdown or knockback would be perfect for this.

Im working towrds master carb after i just gave up MBH. of course i kept the carbine branch and pistol branch too. that in itself is pretty good. I have an attack for each pool (legshot is weaker tho)


the speed mods that i got from BH are awesome. there isnt a carbine that i cant shoot at the 1 second cap. Ive been using my nym sluggun for PvP 170ish-270ish 4.0. aside from the HAM cost this is a great gun. that minimum damage comes in real handy for taking on mitigating opponents.


I used to live by the KD/Dizzy strategy. now i just chargeshot-cripple-cripple. thats usually enough for unarmored opponents. the BH KDs are just not reliable in PvP. confusionshot is the only BH carbinespecial i use anymore.


Im surprised carbiniers dont get more speed at mastery. cripplingshot wouldnt be worth the effort without my BH speed mods.


I cant wait till i get my stocked elite (w/ krayt)made. sure the HAM will be hell, but the stats should look something like 135-270 3.4 before slicing. if i got a damage slice this gun could be amazing. (for PvP, I use +32 minimum +16 action powerups)


the BH/carb has plenty of adavntages. no disadvantages that i can see. i dont know how you all get along without BH.

i noticed a great advantage of dizzy and stun with using bh carb 3 fire knockdown against npcs. id like to know if anyone has bh carb 4 along with master carb, and if so what they think the advantage/disadvantage of it are. also if the pistoleer tree 0 0 4 0 has any real bonus against melee as well as ranged. for example doubling your resist to knockdown, if it actually works.

I aquired Cripple Shot about 2 weeks ago and LOVE IT. I spam the hell out of the shot and barring any major action damage I almost always kill what I shoot at. My gun takes moderate amounts of Ham for special shot so I have had to up the recharge rate for them all but overall I find this to be the best special shot in the game. When CP'ing I hit for over 1100 about 95% of the time. and for a DXR6 carbine that is unsliced I find that to be a very good shot. When Ifirst started the game all I heard was how Carbines are crap etc etc. thats crazy talk..lol...I love this gun and will not EVER switch. And yes I have had every type in the game except heavy and elite weapons, carbines are the best for MY prefered fighting style. I'm glad to see the Carbine Haters were so wrong.
