Being a weaponsmith, I can tell you thet there is no possible way on ANY server to get the minimum damage on a laser carbine to 170 without a power up. Even with a 35% damage slice, that would mean you need a minimum damage of 126. Even with all mats having 1000 to all applicable stats, that is not possible without some sort of enhancement. To the best of my knowledge, there are no enhancements that can be used in a laser carbine that add to minimum damage.

Agreed. All of us I think agree with this fact as well. Which is whyI usually recommend that users invest in a good Laser Carbine first, to cover 75% of the cases. Depending on your server, it could be 90% of the cases.


On the servers Iplay on (Bloodfin and Starsider), I'd say that about 80% of people who activelyPvP wear a PSG. So it really depends. In any case, I think that to cover that one scenario amidst the four possible ones, it's a good idea to invest in a good DXR6 as well.


It can't hurt, really.Carbineers need some serious love at times.. this is just one way to make thingsminimally easier for us.


Anyway, I think that's that. Settled and done with. Phew!

Nice on the damages, but the key numbers for PvP carbines are the min damages. (Maybe its just me, but even an 871 condition carbine like the experimental weapons I'm using is still plenty high, the extra condition is not buying all that much additional time when you count hard and heavy use.)

thanks for all the great info, i was just wondering laser/dx6 myself, this thread has helped a lot!
