Thanks a lot for the info nova, you are most helpful. I gota couple otherquestions:

-Does intimidate make that big of a difference to go MBH, MC, Novice Brawler?

Intimidate is a very helpful special. It reduces both the targets' defensive and offensive capabilities. For Jedi hunting I think Novice Brawler (for /intimidate and /warcry) would be more helpful than Novice Medic (since you'll either be KD/dizzy by the jedi or it will be your Mind that's gone). I myself chose not to spend the 15 SP's on a Novice box and instead pumped the extra SP's into Pistoleer defenses.

-In PvP jedi or normal PvP once you Knockdown dizzy the player (with whatever shotfloats your boat) what is the best attack? I'm not sure if it was you or some one else that said not to just spam away an attack. I figured thats what you would do once they are down and dizzy flopping like a fish.My old method was use /fireknockdown to KD, Dizzy them, then switch to pistol toblind them, bleed them, burn them using using bh pistol specials then swich back to carbine and spam sprayshot or crippling shot to finish them. I know now its not that easy to swich weapons during comabat anymore so that is probably not the path.

You have to remember that Jedi can heal themselves and states even while KD/dizzied. If you're a MBH, then you should always whale away on them with /sprayshot. That way you will keep re-applying the dizzy/stun/blind on them. Once they heal the states, you put another one back on them. Even though the damage modifier is .5 less than /crippleshot, you get the added states. Keeping the dizzy, burns, bleeds, intimidates stuck on the jedi is the key to winning the encounter.

For normal PvP you can just use /crippleshot as they wont be able to get up unless they use the /stand and heal exploit macro.

As a MBH/Mcarbineer, you can effectively target every single HAM pool. I'll usually just see which one's the lowest and go to town on that:

- Health pool => use /torsoshot and /healthshot 1&2

- Action pool => use /legshot3 and /actionshot2

- Mind pool => use /eyeshot

I'm not sure if we know the exact details on it... but I'd say a general description would be that it does damage at a 7.5x modifier (same as crippling shot) distributed randomly between all 3 pools.

Im like 85% sure that Crippling Shot has a 5.0x dmg modifier and the highest dmg mod in the game is Last Ditch (6.0x)

It all depends how the modifier is listed.....some profs of lesser intelligence base their number from the Standard Attack, which is 1.5X the Weapon Stats. But the smarter Carbineers base our modifiers from the actual weapon. Those other profs have to take the weapon stats and multiply by 1.5X and then the special modifier to get real damage....which is soooo stupid IMO.

Thanks again for all the info guys.

As for Carbineer/Bounty Hunter templates with medic: I don't like having medic for one reason- if you are healing yourself you are not attacking, and on the defensive. Once on the defensive with no defensesyou are screwed! Plus most of the time the mind pool is the lowest (even with buffs and foods) and by healing yourself you make yourself (mind) weaker.

I think I may have to try out Novice brawler with Master carb and master bh, it shouldn't take me long to make the switch anyway to at least check it out.

here is what i came up with:

Master TKM - Master Marksman - 4/0/0/0 Brawler - Master Carbineer - 0/0/3/0 Commando

Thats what I might do except there are a few problems.

First, there is no medic. Okay, that's fine, we dont need medic. We have TKM, but still it takes a while to meditate while Stims are instant, and Stims can be easily used in combat.

Second, no scout. With this template, you are gonna want to huntlarge animals, with expensive hides/meat/bones, you're gonna want scout.

This is a great "tank" combo, where you can kill just about anything. But I'm still not satisfied, as I dont have scout for harvesting, or artisan for surveying.

my new template is going to be

Master Carbineer/ BH 0400/ Fencer 4030

Advantage:

sick carbine speed with the fencer defense branch and melee mitigation

disadvantage:

i end up missing out on the fencer resistances to knockdown
