The more I think about it, it seems everybody thinks the world of intimidate. Blind is nice, and stun is nice, but intimidateseemsessential to high end combat, to the point that all ranged professions want a ranged intimidate attack. This seems remarkably similar to the problem with stun damage, that one thing is a lot better than equivalent damage types (or states in this case).


Has there been any serious talk about reducing the effectiveness of intimidate, or increasing the effect of stun and blind in an attempt to better balance them? The fact that many ranged professions pick up novice brawler for that single ability seems somewhat indicative of it's power and importance as compared to stun and blind...

well the templates im looking at and liking are Master carbineer bounty hunter 3-4-0-0 commando 0-0-4-0 gotta love the burn or bh 3-4-4-0 m carb and pistoleer 0-0-4-4 but the weapon change delay would hurt it bad and also i hate jedi so i ust have invewt 3

If you remember my carbineer vision post a week or 2 back I posted a disclaimer at the end that said it needs to be a big deal when you are stunned or blinded. I have to admit, even after Thunderheart told us what these states do, I am not sure they do that. If those definitions are accurate, then the effect is so small it it hard to detect that it is doing anything. Seriously, if we were to pool Carbineers as to what blind and stun did, I am sure we would get a wide range of answers. Clearly then, blind and stun are minimal states while intimidate is certainly a major state.


I intend to push for blind and stun to be major debuffs when the combat revamp moves into full swing.

When I was playing on TC2 they had made it so that the BH mission gave no group TEF, the only way to group up against the jedi was to get multiple BHs with the same mission. Not sure what's on live now.

I take that back. It's going to be Master Carbineer, BH 0300, Brawler 0400, Fencer 3000 or as high as i can go in the first line of fencer. I get ranged and melee defense. Woot. Should know by the end of the week I think.

I have been looking at something along the lines of
MBH
Carbine 3440
Pistol 0044

Its so hard to pass up the defenses in the pistol line. Plus the melee kd could come in handy.
This would also cap me on pistol and carbine speed. 45 melee defense isnt great, but its not too bad either.

You really dont need that much pistoleer skills to be effective. I got along just fine with eyeshot, torsoshot, stoppingshot, fanshotas a 0040 Pistoleer. I dont know how good 2-weapon set upswill be with the 5 second timer though. I know I was always swiching back and forth putting on dots and states and stuff..IMO it'll be best to stick with 1 weapon so I'll be going MCarbineer/MBH/xxx.
