We can hope that he was just playing the character, that I could see, I've done things like that before, or pulled a stunt like Calo Nord in KOTOR.

"DeWd cantra1n m3?"

"1......".

"2......"

"3......"

You have challenged L33t-D3wd to a duel.

Either that or it's an Ebay account and they don't know their arse froma hole in the ground and know it.

Self-realization. I was thinking of the immortal words of Socrates, when he said, "I drank what?"

I wouldn't say the Carbineer is the worst of the worst. I was a Bounty Hunter for awhile and as all bounty hunters half to do, grind that cursed investagation skill tree. that involves alot of shuttle ports and waiting. While waiting one day at the starport in kadara a fellow BH challanged me to a friendly duel. he was using the carbineer class to grind the invest exp. To my surprise he shot me three times with his carbine and incapped meusing action shot three. Now those three shots had to deal with the PvP damage reduction of of 75%, damage malitagation of 60%, and comp armor with a 60% resist down the board except stun. The next fight I won because the fireknockdown stuck, and I used the LLC to finish the job. I spent tripple the time killing him then he did me. Carbineers are not all that bad off.

Besides you can get a krayted laser carbine that has a 700 max damage on it. Thats an AR2 weapon there so armors effectiveness us redused quite a bit. Y ou can't get a T-21to matchthat kind of damage and the laser rifle takes more krayt tissue to make. Also if the target is unarmored just think of that 50% damage bonus you get affacting that 700 max damage number. Your looking at an 1050 points of max damage, and your special attacks haven't multiplied that yet. and if the target is armored that damage helps punch through it. Carbineer isn't that bad off. Also all professions are supported by each other somehow. thats why your givin 250 skill points to work with.

Ok, I have a carbineer getting close to master - so this is my board as much as anyone elses, and I have a BH on another galaxy closing on master - so actually know about them enough to make meaningful comment.

Comparing the two I must say carbineer is a good deal of fun and has allowed the spare points to master combat medic along the way and they work well together. I have a friend that went a similar route and stated it worked well in PvP compared to other routes he tried. Staying true to one weapon type has the great advantage of building familiarity with its movesand carbines have the great advantage of having a good variety of types - I frequently use EE3s, laser carbs, DH17 and a nicely sliced Nyms (like the look and sound of those puppies) depending on the target. I'd dabbled with carbine with my BH and liked it so much I decided to go all the way on another character.

BH by comparison wouldn't allow the flexibility to master another profession unless you just dabble - but if you just dabble in BHyou are unlikely to be literally a bounty hunter as you are unlikely to be hunting any actual bounties (never heard of an Investigation dabbler, guess they must exist). Peoplewho dabble in one tree of BH are most likely a pistoleer or carbineer looking for some extra bite, which is fine in my opinion. The dedicated BH has to study different weapons which is a little annoying. Some moves are very good though and accuracy/speed is nice. Unlike a lot of others I don't see scout as 'wasted skill points'. I like to hunt creatures with my friends and live the outdoor life, PvP is ok but to be honest the majority of players do not devote their online lives to just doing that.

The viability as a PvP machine I think is the key here. Whilst I consider most of Vevy's comments to laughable and somewhat ignorant (or just trying to annoy people, which is worse), I consider the commentsthatVevy has a bad template (and therefore knows nothing)are equally laughable. I am guessing Vevy enjoys being an armoursmith so it isn't wasted anymore than anything else done in a online game is. One more armoursmith, more armour available for everyone and a good way of making money, meeting people and liable to gain more respect in the wider community than being a fighter ever will. But a lot of prolific posters are often speaking from the standpoint of being 'uber' in PvP is the sole reason to playing the game - and a load of people just don't see it that way.

So what I'm saying is that if you want to hunt bounties and can do so, you are an effective BH. You should be able to take people down, and with player bounties this should include a player you've snuck up on. If you want to be good with a versatile weapon that does work in PvP or PvE no matter how much people moan and seems to be getting better with publish 7 AND be able to master another profession wholly unrelated (that isn't just scout) then carbineer is a very good choice. It is where bugs make this impossible that you have a problem and I don't see that as a case at the moment, it could be better but the fact I can take bounties unbuffed and hunt well with my carbineer unbuffed (works best supporting my swordsman friend) means that it works well enough.

Ok, if being a PvP all conquering monster is what is most important to you (and I don't see that as being bad as long as griefing is not your interest) then some unholy mishmash of careers is perhaps best and TK/Rifle or something like that iprobably rules. But its only a small part of the experience and I think a scout trained BH or Carbineer/Armoursmith is a lot more interesting.

As to original tag, boards seem at their most busy when things are broken and people are complaining so board being quiet isn't neccessarily the worse of things to happen.

I had my first taste of Carbineer PvP this week. Went to Emperor's Retreat forgetting I had a TEF. I ride up to a group of Rebs who are just hanging out outside (how the **edit** are rebs allowed to get that close to that place) and am slain and my bike destroyed in roughly 4 seconds. 4. It was a Tera Kazi..started punching and a second later I was down. How the hell can I PvP that?

Like almost any class, mastery is key.

- As I see it, Sony has until July 31st 2004 to pull content, balance and most importantly "fun" out of a hat and into the game for me. I guess I can list "buying a non-refundable year's subscription" down as one of the dumbest decisions made in my life. Congradulations SoE, you took 200 bucks from me. -
