Thread: A Guide to Mastering Carbineer
I used this guide to grind carbineer. I haven't Mastered yet, but I took some time to get the unarmed exp I needed for TKA.
The only thing I would suggest trying that isn't mentioned, anywhere I saw at least, is to get in a big group. Big enough to pull vorritor hunter missions. While in this group, continue to pull savage quenker missions, you'll have to do more searching at the terminal. In a group this size each "wave" coming out of the lair consists of 5 quenkers, which averages out to be 45k to 65k experiencer per lair as opposed to 18k-21k per lair. You won't gain as much cash, but you wont need much anyhow, cept for buffs and brandy and that can be paid for with 2 mission payouts.
I also used this guide for TKA. Once you hit unarmed 4 it is very easy to take out 4-5 quenkers at a time, it just takes a long time to actually kill 'em.

Great guide. I dropped Carbineer thinking SOE wouldn't come thru in the clutch in fixing our specials. Well, I've taken it up again, and LOVE the ideas in this guide. Specifically, grouping with my pet. I'm a crafter, not a fighter, so I wasn't aware of that little "cheat" in the system, but will be using it happily tomorrow.
High kinetic ubese isn't necessary if you also have an elite brawler mastered. Damage mitigation 3 is nice against savage quenkers. The extra melee defense is nice too. I use 20% mabari, doc buffs, and a couple swigs of brandy. With this setup, two savage quenkers gnawing on my toes while I blast them can't get more than a sliver of white in my HAM. I am just starting carbineer, but I can't imagine it's going to be any different than all the other elite brawlers and marksman classes, which I have done, with regards to resisting quenker attacks.
With the mabari, you get lower HAM costs for specials and it doesn't take a big chunk out of your bank account when you have to replace it. Disposable armor is nice.

Armor isn't always needed, but with buffs, brandy and kinetic armor life is just easier -- cause you will need to get high kinetic armor eventually for higher-content PvE.
It's also based on Carbineer being the main profession, not really secondary -- if you have another class mastered it could be easier.
Im on profession 30 with carbineer. So ive got a little experience with grinding combat professions.
First off great post.. now i know what i need to do to grind up carbineer... thanks..
The true secret.. is lok.
Take 8300 gurk missions. They DO not Spawn babies. They do NOT have armor. They have crappy resistances, and moderately small hams. Each one will yield 3500-3900 each, and the lair will generally yield 4400-5000 xp.
bottom line is each missions yields 40k. (9 spawns of 3800 average)+(4500k)
times 2 per outting
equals 90k or so per set of missions
OH and heres another tip. Natural spawning lairs will yield between 25-45 critters.. no babies..
they are awesome!
My two cents..
I for one would like to thank you for taking the time to type all of this out. Thanks it has help me on grinding out. I hope people understand that this is just aguildto help people.
