I have to disagree. For us to be effective in PvP we need an armor nerf, and a slight increase in damage or AP for a few of our weapons.
Almost all stun weapons are AP zero.

Stun......yeah right.....quite simply not every profession is going to get every damage type.....try on some Common Sense for just one minute.....
And for those asking for Stun in PvP, well you just don't know how to PvP......Stun has NEVER killed me and usually can't get around my buffs. 40% Stun Comp and 60% Stun PSG will stop the wimpy Stun weapons out there COLD.

where the heck is our stun e-11's? with ap1 and having decent speed and damage they'd be very useful in pvp
IMO the STUN setting is more like the Stun State we can apply vs the actual damage type. My thinking is that the Stun setting does no real damage whereas the Stun damage type we have in-game does actual damage to kill a person.
AND this is not the movies

There are a number of weird statements thatneed a translator.....but starting threads like this is almost as bad as continuing them....
But on the AP1 or AP2 Stun Carbine......as hundreds of posts have discussed, that is NOT the answer to balance PvP......there is no reason to ask for something that makes us so much better that we become the #1 target of the nerf bat.

Sorry, but Electricity is still the way to go with a new Carbine (though a krayt killer would be nice) Electricity is always a Special resist on Composite and typically 5-10% lower than the 80+ percent base resists of ubercomposite. Its not the 40% of a Stun weapon, but its an edge with our Accuracy in a running battle.

Here's a carbine no one thought of...
AP3 Elite Laser Carbine
Prereq MCarbineer
Damage avg 300 - 650
Speed avg 4
drool...
who cares about damage type when you got AP3

I still would like a blast type damage, just because it is more effective against hi end mobs, and I still PVE far more than I PVP.
Oh, and a serious damage boost across the board with what we have would mek me happy.

People keep trying to turn my topic into a damage type war![]()
/offtopic Well, as long as people can wear high-end composite armor with relative ease, there will always be a request for stun weaponry. Maybe what the devs need to do is make it so comp armor can be 80%-90% vs. all damage types. Then, we would see the calls for stun damage in order to "succeed" in PvP combat become non-existant. Anyways....
/ontopicThe carbine I would really like to see is a closequarters carbine.Something like this:
Damage Type: Energy
Min: 110
Max: 200
Wound Chance: 50%
Armor Piercing: Heavy
Range Min: 0m
Range Max: 32m
Range Mods: +50 @ 0m / +20 @ 15m / -80 @ 27m
HAM Cost: 30/50/30

300 average DPS with a AP0 Stun weapon vs. 40% composite.
((300 x 0.5) x 0.6 = 90 DPS
300 Average DPS with an AP2 Energy weapon vs. 80% Composite
((300 x 1.25) x 0.2 = 75 DPS.
Yes, the Stun is marginally better.
No, they're not going to introduce a Stun Carbine just for the whiney people who think Stun is the be-all-and-end-all of PvP.
No, even if they did, it wouldn't compare to a decent Laser Carbine.
Drop it already.
(Oh, by the by, you're PvPing against people who *only* wear 40% Stun composite? They must be new....)

I hold a PvP class every wednesday on my server for all the newbs, and the casual players that want to get out there and kick butt, and one of the things I preach, more than anything else is this.
Stun sucks.
I actually have them repeat it back to me, so they'll never forget it. You wanna be an ub3r-l337 pwnXXor, go be a rifleman, or a pistoleer. Stand in bestine or Coronet or Theed, and rock out hopped up "civilians" to your hearts content. The only people you'll ever beat with a stun weapon is someone that either has no idea what they're doing, which makes you a bully, or someone that does know what they're doing, but they aren't prepared to fight you. Which makes you a scavenger.
I'm neither. I and all my students are Soldiers. We fight other soldiers. People who, like us spend a majority of their time gearing up for PvP. Buying crate upon crate of IMP PSG's. Hunting Nightsisters to get the best stun armor on the server. Spending hours at a time looking for just the right chef foods.
You ever seen a duel between a defense stacked fencer, and a defense stacked swordsman, when both of them are fully prepared for the fight?
It's disgusting. The swordsman will **edit** the fencer every time. Why? because while the fencer is beating on the swordsman with his AP0 stun baton, acklay or not, the swordsman is cutting the fencer's mind to shreds, with his scythe. Why? IMP psg's are vuln to kinetic. IMP psg's are not vulnerable to stun. Thus, the amount of damage taken is around 15 points. No matter how good the stun baton is.
Stun is not the answer. Not now, and not ever. I almost never see riflemen use it anymore. When I do, I get a chuckle. And every time I see a BH pistoleer shooting someone with his geno. Or shooting ME with his geno, I laugh. Cuz the scatter pistol he only uses when hunting rancors would do almost twice the damage.
So, like I said. You wanna be a real soldier in the GCW, don't use stun. Don't ask for stun. It's useless, and makes you look like a newb when you use it.

I want an offician Red Ryder CARBINE-action two-hundred-shot range model air rifle with a compass in the stock and this thing which tells time!!!
Seriously, something that does cold damage would be nice. That is one damage type that's pretty well neglected. Put the cert for it 2 boxes up in one of the carbineer branches and put it on the level of the geonosian blaster (the good crafted ones) and the disrupter rifle.
