Carbineer Archive
Thread: I feel as if carbineer is the worst profession of the marksman tree...
I get to play with the best of both worlds.
I have a TON of excellent Carbines & Rifles of various damage types. My main workhorse is my trusty E11 Mk.II. I have a nice damaging, low SAC (roughly 85) T21.
The T21 is quite nice with my template. TONS of accuracy, great speed. Firing the T21 with damage specials is obviously beneficial, but switching in between Impr.Full Auto Area and Impr.Fan Shot turns my T21 into a Light Machinegun / SAW type of weapon. Quite nice on those ultra-ultra rare fights between a bunch of normal professions.

The fact is I am Master Rifleman AND Master Carbineer...so I get the best of both worlds. All the rifleman and carbineer shots plus the range and plenty of mods with my rifle. Sure, I switch to one of my carbines in certain situations but I have grown to like my 1,359 max damage ALR. With my speed mod around 1.4 it's plenty fast enough.
Everyone has their set ways they like to fight critters, or npc's, or pvp. I am not sure there is any right or wrong way, it's what you enjoy and what is effective for you. Nobody should judge anyone else in the game for the template they chose or the way they enjoy the game, it's all just for fun.
Not judging or being testy.

As a carbineer, I generally avoid using a rifle whenever possible so that I can retain my carbine skill mods. I'm thinking most of my fellow carbineers have the same mindset. If we need the extended range, we only need it to apply a few shots (snare or KD) that will allow us to get back in carbines range. Frankly, more accuracy with a DXR6 is more likely to land those shots than having less accuracy with a more powerful ALR.
Alternate suppression fire and cripple shot. Get another carbineer to focus on damage. You dont need any more than that if you both have good speed and weapons. They die before they get to you at the worst you have to slowly back up.
The Croud Controle Carbineer should be constantly targeting the closest mob and applying the cripple. That target will then fade back allowing you to double slow yet another one. And you can make the jedi mad when you tell them they cant come because being only a mele they cant kill fast enough and wont get any exp because they wont have time to get any hits in :0)
Unless this new rage thing broke suppression fire...no time for games the last couple days to mess with it....grr i hate it when they change my skills and i cant try it.
As a carbineer/CM/0004 SL i can solo Full temp jedi
Just gotta know how to use it....
