I made my current Krayt carbine right after the CU came out, so everyone was thinking DPS was everything. SAC on it is like 110, with 996 max damage. I created this topic because I wanted to know if the extra 60 damage or so was worth paying a few mil for a new gun. Now I see I need a new gun solely because the SAC blows on my current one as well.

Well you definatley need a new Carbine if the sac is that high, A new weapon wont be just a matter of +60damage, but +60 Damage/+Amount of Specials before Sac runs out/+probably 0.2-0.5 secs faster. And possibly +50 or so accuracy (when its fixed) You could get a carbine with all that for around 3-4million On Farstar.

I've recently returned from a summer break from SWG, and I'm in the market for a new gun. I read all about the new Power Cells, etc., and I'm unsure of what to do.

Right now, I have a decent Krayted Elite Carbine that I get by with it. By no means is it exceptional though. I want to know if it's really worth it to dish out the millions of credits and purchase an E11 Mk. II or an Elite with 1063 max damage, 2ish speed, and 73 SAC? Has anyone here had any before and after experiences after purchasing a capped carbine? Does it really make a difference, or should I just stick with what I have.

Side note: This is mainly for PvP purposes...the CU killed PvE, IMO. I'm a Master Carbineer, Master Combat Medic, with Pistoleer skills, so I can't use the Czerka for the kinetic damage it has. (since the cert for it is in BH)

Is it worth it?

I would say yes. My old carb was a Krayted one...close to cap in damage, nice speed..and a sac around 84-85. I did alright with it, both for pvp and pve. My new one is a doublecapped Elite. Damage cap and sac cap. Biggest difference is the sac, it has become so much easier to manage the fight...conserve sac while still dishing out damage or states. Because of this I use a dmg pup with it and land in the region around 600-1200 damage range. And it hurts.....many jedi will agree with me there...The only thing left to improve is speed. Tapes....FS ranged speed tree....just some things to work on.

Bottom line, I say it makes quite a difference. I tend to win alot more now...but that can also be contributed to knowing my temp better and better. If you have the money...get a double capped! (OH, and ADK it!)

Thanks, that was the type of answer/comparison I was looking for. (someone who had a pretty good carbine before, and then switching to a double cap)

Depending on the weaponsmith, a double capped carbine on Starsider will run me about 6-9 mil credits, and a capped Nym's is around 3 mil from what I've seen.
