Comments:

The carbine should be about speed and wide area sweeps. It is, or seems to be intended to be, a sub-machine gun type of weapon and thusly should have increased speed and area effect at the cost of accurace and maybe range. I could even live with a range below 64 meters if I was givevn the fastest weapon in the game to compensate.

The first order of carbineer restructure though must be fixing the specials so that all specials work and are non-redundant.

When that is done, it is time to look to changes in the system. Also, bounty hunters should not, and this cannot be stressed enough, they should not have higher carbine speed than carbineers. It is enought that they have nifty special attacks, which they should have. Speed and accuracy should be lower than a carbineers.

All though these look like very nice options the only way to control a crowd is with area dizzy and area KD and extreme dps.

Like I said I've based this on the idea of the mounted/unmounted soldier thus I see us as someone who has good mobility and accuracy while moving, unfortunately not the most dmg dealing but good at controling the enemy (think covering fire in real life, I see carbineer as the person who is making the enemy keep their heads down in a firefight) Also something I would like to see that I know is a vast stretc would be carbineers getting bonuses while riding - for instance (these are some dreams ) carbineers doing specials off creatue mounts and shooting from player vehicles (that's stretching a lot I know but carbineer is based on someone who could fight on a mount)

I'm going to add some comments to justify why I picked the options I did.

Look at the names of some of our specials... 'burst shot'... 'full auto area'... Carbineers should be effective against multiple targets and spray a lot of fire at an area... not necessarily at one person.

Crowd Control goes with my thoughts above... status effects should be a powerful tool available to carbineers. I like the thoughts someone mentioned before about being the main status effects profession.

Knockdown is useful against single targets and would help if the class moves towards a more 'crowd control' based discipline... Against large groups, posture down and slow changes would be great. It makes sense too that if someone is spraying the air full of automatic weapons fire, you're going to at least duck.

I like the idea of counterattack provided they make it actually ATTACK instead of being another name for dodge. As far as I've been able to tell, I never do any damage when it says 'you counterattack!' My apologies if i'm wrong about that.

I think carbines needa boost in thearmor piercing area... we should have armor piercing stats closer to what rifles can do. As a trade off the damage and and accuracy should be less than that of a rifleman. (which it already is)


We should also be able to shoot faster than a rifleman... which I believe may need some work. In comparison, pistoleers would have a faster speed (which they already do) and higher accuracy (which they already do) and better raw damage but with less armor piercing. Logically, carbines should have enough punch to put put a nice dent in your composite armor, while a pistol would have a harder time with it.

In a group environment a carbineer should be king... it's nice to be able to hit 7-8 people in PvP with full auto area, but when there's a pistoleer doing fan shot for twice as much damage, what's the point? The area attacks need to be improved, and state changes should be added (or at least fixed) in our specials so that the carbineer would be somebody you would always want around in a big fight. Iwouldn't mind gettingbeat 9 times out of 10 in a duel if I could go to a battle and give half the enemy a posture change to prone.
