firehawk, you ever heard of the heat damage carbine?
for example, fencer has stun, kinetic while carbineer have energy/heat/acid

Yeah but Stun is not easily resisted against in PvE and sursprisingly still in PvP.

The most armor can get as a Stun rating is around 40%, whereas Heat is a base stat on Composite which means it can be resisted between 70% and 90%. Also, the EE3 Carbine has very low damage stats compared to say an Acklay Stun Baton with very good Acklay Bones. One might consider the case of using exceptional tissues in an EE3, but regardless of how you craft the Heat Carbine, it will never ever be as good as a Laser or DXR6 crafted with the same components.

Heat damage does not exist in PvP. Pistoleers used to use the FWG5, but since their krayt-handler nerf, it's all about the DE-10 (energy), the Geo Pistol (stun) and the Rep. Blaster (acid.)

Keep in mind that Fencer isn't really a profession meant for damage. It's defenses are the highest of any other profession, so some sacrifice must be made. As I see it, Pistoleers, Pikemen and TKs suffer from the same damage problems we do, except that:

Pistoleers have much better defenses and the all powerful dodge.

Pikemen have excellent looted weapons. That's all they have, but a well equipped Pikeman makes up the best PvP profession out there.

TKs have a crazy damage modifier, some excellent ranged/melee defenses, awesome special abilities (FOW, Med., Pboost), nice stat defenses andsome verypotent knockdown and dizzy specials.

Contrast that to Carbineers which have NO defenses, state specials which are EASILY resisted, posture/knockdowns which don't even compare to melee classes, poor speed and accuracy and generally low damage weapons and you find yourself with a profession that doesn't quite work all that well without some help. It's like I always put it: A Master Carbineer with a simple Laser Carbine without any enhancements in the form of attachments or special weapons will almost always lose against any other combat profession out there. Once in a while, you'll be able to dizzy/KD your opponent, but you'll be firing so slow that your damage will be insignificant. Try it out on your buddies - I did.

What kind of target are we talking about here? I'm capped at 125 carbine speed, so I'm just as fast as a master pistoleer. As far as DPS, that has nothing to do with it, if you're dizzy kd. So I personally believe carbineer/bh is the best ranged combat template. What I lack in defense, I more than make up in offense .

Some servers are different, but on Chilastra anybody without 80% Base and 40% Stun Comp with 45% PSG is a total n00b.....and thus makes PvP pointless....along with the hundreds of Jedi we have.....

That's pretty much it.

Actually, it's quite funny because about a month ago, some 15-20 players from Chilastra left for Starsider, and started a wookiee-only guild called PWNED. They all created fat wookiees and all had some Dancer, and about 90% of them were Riflemen/CMs. They teamed with us (AXIS) for a bit and when we asked them why they came over, apparently there was a Jedi situation on Chilastra that was just crazy beyond belief.. you couldn't go anywhere without having 10 on you ganking you everywhere you went?

We welcomed them with open arms and stuff.. it was quite frankly hilarious to see 15 wookiees all lined up in Theed overt, dancing and jiggling in synch until a poor Overt Rebel loaded in and all hell broke loose with T21s and Jawas and poison tosses, heh.

Anyway, they figured Starsider was different because it was dubbed the unofficial Roleplay server.. but after having grinded for some 2 weeks and PvP'd a bit, they realized it was the same deal here too.. and apparently all left for WoW.

Needless to say, on most populated servers, damage means nothing whe you factor in 80 base 40 stun armor, 35-45 PSGs and steak. Mix in defenses or docs and dizzy/KDs are mere distractions at best. I can't remember the last time I actually kept someone dizzy/KDd.. there's just too many ways to get around it and get right back up again.

Our posture changes are only really useful for straddlers who run away and simply won't go down until they get locked for a few seconds until your teammates can catch up and sick it to 'em.

But we're just going back to the good ol' Top Carbineer issues, namely being Speed, Effectiveness of Damage and Usefulness of States in end-game play.

I find states to stick pretty well....it's not easy to sticka state on a stacker, but I had problem doing that too as TK....

anyone STILL have problems with fencer should get some armor and psgs...and using a heat weapon except the flamethrower IS a silly idea.

Concerning pistoleer: the acid pistol is the DX2 (or scatter for BH), but it is almost impossible to get a decent DX2 as it requires 4 blaster power handlers. I have one made with +50 tissue which hot a 34% damage slice..with min=max pup it's still ONLY 386 max

The only weapons except glowy things I've seen doing serious damage lately are the commando consumables and the LLC...but the accuracy on those is....horrible (and I do mean the accuracy mods on your toon...not the weapons).

Shooting someone in full comp with my LLC is like shooting someone without stun armor with a 400 damage GEO and Lastditch lol.

In short: carbs aren't the most damaging class...but I feel naked to pvp without one next to me (or being one)
