Thread: It's official: We are now the worst combat profession
Sorry to burst the bubble of the guys saying you couldn't solo everything with chargeshot1. I've been a master carbinier (now my only combat skill) for about 4 months, so don't say I don't know what I'm talking about. And outside of the warping issue, which would screw me, I could solo Krayts without that much problem. Of course it had to be one and only one krayt and it took me about 15-20 minutes. On a daily basis, the time factor and wear on my carbines outweighed the reward for doing this so I would only do it once in a very long while. So, yeah, maybe something had to be done about CS1. Unfortunately, as many have said, CS1 was the only thing that made us viable in combat. It's a real shame that the decision makers decided to do something about it without offering us any compensation (like, say, fixing the broken/redundant specials). That's a bad design move. Maybe they were thinking "Well, the whole combat thing is going to be revamped, so for now, let's make a half-assed attempt to balance PvP". I don't know. But we still have to pay for the game as we await the combat revamp that might or might not make us viable again. How long do we wait? Unclear. Could be 6 months for all we know. Look at the droid engineers -- if there are any non-holo grinding DE's left, they have to seriously doubt whether their profession will EVER be viable let alone fun. This is the history of the SWG launch. There is no trust in the player community that anything worthwhile will be done for its professions. As a group, Carbiniers have been asking/demanding for many months that their specials, at least, be fixed. All that has been delivered is this debilitating nerf/fix whatever you want to call it. It's demoralizing.
This should be everyone's issue, too, not just carbiniers -- much as chef, DE, smuggler, pikeman etc. should have been everyone's issue. Bad design decisions can ravage the player community -- which is to everyone's detriment. People quit because of them or change professions which denudes the richness of the SWG universe. It's winter in SWG land. Let's hope that there will be a spring.
Once they nerf defence stacking. MBH will begin to own.

Only to find out that they work almost only in combination with carbineer skills. The BH Specials are fine in theory, but they wont stick. Its like shooting a bazooka at a bus - AND MISS IT. Thats why BH suck.
By the way MBH takes 217 skill points and master carbineer mere 94...

Well, imho, you don't get out enough...all of my carbines(EE3, DXR6, Elite) are all atleast 120-300, non-krayt...As a matter of fact, I found an elite carbine on my server that was 192-297, without powerup. Worst weapons in the game? I think not, that 192 min damage will really kick ass when i have damage mitigation 3. Carbineer is not really a bad profession at all, you guys are just expecting way to much. I have master pistoleer and I can destroy a MBH, I'm only 0/1/1/0 in carbineer and i can beatmost other ranged professions in pvp...AND I'M FREAKIN WOOKIEE!
