Compared to what I have now....
Laser: 3.9, 83-320, , +25 @50m, HAM=58/74/52
And I tried to use the DPS Calculator (not sure if i used it correctly), but by my math, my current carbine has better DPS. But if the new carbine I saw for sale is unstocked, I can make it better, right?

what about mine? it's not loot made or double sliced

Well, I spent my entire fortune, bought 4 of these carbines, and only had one that was sucessfully speed sliced. I got it down to 2.8. Not the 35% that I've ready about, but it's something. So is this the novice carbineer weapon I should be using?
Laser: 2.8, 43-280, +25 @ 50m, HAM=30/48/24

Thats a pretty nice laser I snagged one bout 2.6 speed. For now, I wouldn't worry alot about damage. Its not worth your time, cash, and headache to find the mostest uberest damage carbine. Just don't go hunting rancor, kimoglia, or krayt dragons yet
Also do yourself a favor and get a dxr6 and ee3 just in case you run across something very energy resistant.
