Seriously. Laser Carbine ideal is 50m. That's quite a bit out of range of any melee weapon I've ever seen.
Why can't you guys just admit it's a bugged special that needs to be fixed?

I have explained a few times how to handle it, but let me recap.
1. Get some ranged abilities yourself. I was killed many times by melee when I was just ranged. My solution was to get some melee to counter it a bit...hence the fact that I am also Master 2h.
2. Group with people who are ranged. If your not the ranged type then just make sure you group with someone who is. Any ranged profession can tear us apart if we use only CS. Let them cover your run in.
3. Use cover. Ok, so you don't want to be ranged and you don't want to group. Your the lone wolf. No problem if you use tactics and a bit of common sence. Hide behind buildings till yur close enough. Duck behind trees to get some cover. Little known fact, but if a rock is big enough to stop you when your running then a ranged can't see you to shoot you according to SWG. With the combat revamp we are SUPPOSEDLY going to need an LOS to hit you. This means using hills and valleys will work to move in close as well
As far as using a laser carbine to spam CS? Who in their right mind would even attempt this? The ham cost alone would incap the carbineer in 4 or 5 shots max. Even with all health and action buffed the mind cost alone would incap.
Why can't you just admit that you see something you either don't wantand/or can't deal with? I admit it is so much easier to try and get it taken from us, but as I said before...its not up to the carbineers or the devs to make it easier for you, its up to you to make it harder for us.
In an unrelated note, what profession are you Shimond? My bet is on TKA/Doc.

Even when I was one of the 'HDTs' multiple BH/carbines could and did keep me pinned indefinately until killed because of the charge shot exploiting.
Dizzy seems to still stick even though you are 'not knocked down' which makes that particular bugged special all the more powerful. It cuts through defenses as if they do not exist (also part of the bug) and of course, is spammable.
HAM cost is irrelevant, a human can get 1000 focus easily base with stat migration and with one BOH or rysh along with doc buffs make firing any special cost a negligible amount, add more food if you happen to bother with armor (keeping a target 'pinned' such you really have no need for armor).
I just want to see carbineers understand and embrace the fact that charge shot 1 is a bugged special that needs to be fixed and is far far far from being balanced or 'working as intended'. That's all.

I can understand the 'pure' carbineer doesn't have the speed or accuracy to really make it worthwhile but the BH/carbine combo most certainly does. They can fire crippling shot at close to if not at the speed cap, which combined with a good laser carbine puts out a significant amount of damage.
All that being said I know the other problems of the carbineer profession (I was one briefly a while back) and I am under the hope and assumption those will get worked out along with charge shot in this combat balance pass they're working on.
I just get tired of people saying charge shot is 'working as intended' as it is currently live.

I wave the flag on that one. I worked thirty minutes on one and got 1/3rd of the way through the action bar alone. That was with the action shot1/2 stack. Charge shot. Crippleshot. and another canyon krayt fighting it. And I still died when it warped on top of me.
That guns requirements for most specials is so high that even with full buffs, muon and fishak I can wear my mind down to the point of incapacitation. Charge shot does nothing for damage. I use it when kiting to drop someone and open range. But its fair that the rifleman get a T-21 right?? Ohh master head shot with a ap3 weapon. No armor effective enough against that. What of sniper shot??? Not much damage but the only profession with a ranged DB.
Our specials do little damage for the ham cost. I would have to say we rate right by pikeman when it comes to that. What's the matter. Can't take it that you got owned by a borked profession?
We say it because it is working as intended. That's why we say it.
Of course, with this game, if enough folks cry "nerf," it may not be working as intended tomorrow.

It's just the animation. You can still shoot. The knockdown only takes effect once every 30 seconds. Just keep shooting through the animations.
