I'm just getting into GCW PVP and there's always jedi fighting... I just went and checked my slugthrower that I have hanging on my wall before I went and did the end part of the quest again and these are the stats:
Spd: 2.25
Dmg: 329-658
Element Dmg: 160
Wound: 1.6%
DPS: 290
SAC: 85
This is better then any I saw listed on the Radiant bazaar. Not too bad and it'll save me time farming them out of the Nym's quest.

I agree that the Czerka seems to be a better choice. What many people aren't realizing is that most special attacks have some sort of damage multiplier and this multiplier will not effect your elemental damage. Therefore a Nym's with 340 minimum damage and 170 Acid Damage isn't the equivalent of a Czerka with 510 minimum damage. Say you use a weapon with a 2x multiplier then a 510 minimum damage Czerka could do 1020 damage while that same Nym's would only do 680+170 damage - equaling out to be 850 damage. I actually dueled a Jedi just last night using my Czerka and a reasonably good Nym's (340 min and 160 Acid Damage). My Czerka's minimum damage was 498 and I was consistently getting a good 100 points or more damage per shot when compared to the Nym's.

I wouldn't call yourself a begger for usuing a Nym's. I conducted some testing recently, and the Nym's is easily a better choice.

You have a czerka with an unpowered up, un-damage slicedmin damage of 498? Or you've seen one with an unpowered up, un-damage slicedmin damage of 510? Somehow I think those are quoted with damage PU's on them, and probably have an 8% damage slice. If so lets compare apples to apples here. The 340 you quoted for the Nym's would be unsliced and unPU'd, so to give the Nym's the same treatment the Czerka got, you have to give it an 8% damage slice and lets say a 32% damage PU. That would put the 340 Nym's up to 484 min damage. And while the Czerka would be doing 1020 damage before reduction, it would only do 765 actual damage in a PvP situation after the 25% reduction. The equivalent Nym's would now be doing 968 kinetic + 170 acid for a total of 1138 min damage, and after PvP reduction would do 896 damage. That's 131 more damage per shot, or a good 17% more.
And for the Nyms to have 170 elemental damage, you're looking closer to 350 min damage, from the guns I've seen (and I've seen a lot
) which brings the damage up to over 918 or so, or a real increase of 20% more.
Correction: a 350 nyms is considered damage capped, so you can only damage PU it, for about 468 min damage. So 936 or 1108 total, and 874 min damage or 14% damage

This is true but a Nym's will have a SAC cost of 80+ whereas you can have a Czerka crafted with a SAC of 73. I find that I can manage a SAC of 73 so long as I pay attention but a SAC of over 80 would prove more difficult. For this reason I would never consider putting a damage PU on a Nym's, while I would still consider putting the damage PU on my Czerka.

Depends on the speed of the weapons. If you're talking a fast czerka sliced down to 1.9 speed vs a nyms sliced to 2.0 speed, you're talking a 5% speed difference there. The SAC difference between 73 and 82 is 12%, so your real SAC over time difference is only like 7%, for a 14% gain in damage, giving you a net gain of SAC-damage over time squared of 7%
AndI don't buy you can shoot a 73 SAC gun indefinitely, eventually I can drain my action using my 52 SAC after PU E11 with spice and food (without doc buffs, which would probably only make things worse since the speed boost would negate the action gain)

I can definitely shoota 73 SAC weapon indefinitely it just requires me switching up specials. I run with +170 Action Regen Food, Action Buffs, and Booster Blue. If the speed buff from doctor is such a problem then why get it? I can shoot my Czerka indefinitely I'll just be required to switch to lower action attacks such as Ranged Shot and Placed Shot to give my action time to regen. This is without speed buffs of course.

I'd rather have the potential to shoot too fast and have to slow myself down deliberately to a 'normal' speed but still be able to increase attack speed when needed, than to attack indefinitely at my fastest speed, and have no room for that extra boost should the need arise.
