I'm having fun playing the carbineer. I understand there are drawbacks to the profession, but it does make being a carbineer a real challenge.

I'm keeping it, master doc/carbineerand always play buffed so I don't care about ham costs, and I've been working with the other shots and having fun. Wild shot 2 works wonders, can clean out a whole nest of mobs at once, plus I like the effective range, rifile is too far for me to run in and heal so carbs still works for me. Not done any PvP so I might change mymind when I get into it.

Not yet, but the devs are treading on thin ice. The crackdown was a mixed bag, leaning towards the failure side. Overt rebels still roam Imperial cities with no NPC troubles, the garrison on the newly Imperial Kor Vella is EMPTY, and now I had to put away my sliced weaponry while I grind some more rank. Some crackdown.
On the player city front, people can still circumvent zoningrights by building outside a growing city, leading to a griefish attempt at a hostile takeover on my town. This is obviously not in the same spirit as zoningrights, yet we've gotten no response from CSRs nor devs, despite specific attention from JEST3R (as it's a factional grief issue in this case).
Crafting/combat is still penalized on both sides, despite the game's supposed dabble-friendly stance on multiclassing. Non-master crafters have no market, and if you're not stacking mods or using a hybrid class, you're a second-class combatant as well.
So, finally, the devs have a real piece of work cut out for them with the combat rework -- and their time is ticking away, I have no reason to wait another 5 months with a game that isn't fun for me to play the way I want. If the combat revamp gives us encounters that reward group play over solo play much more heavily compared to now, a playerbase open to grouping, and strong distinctions between combat professions, with interesting roles -- they'll save my 30 bucks a month, and the 30-45 a month of my friends.

I'll be keeping it until I master. I'm a casual player and have invested to much time in it now to quit.

i'm here to stay(kind of like foot fungus), i have put a ton of time in to carbiner already and i'm not droping i now.
and besides, i was thinking on it and i dont really like any of the toher combat classes, carbineer is perfect for me.
rilfman uses mind and has a long ideal rage and is slow, not good.
pistols have low damge and a low ideal range.
and i dont want to use a brawler class since i dont like being so close, thats what my pets are for.
so i'm here and i'm going to master, even if its broken until publish 1700000

At master, a rifleman can spam Headshot3 at the speed cap with an AP3 gun. I think that out of the 3 ranged elites, rifleman is definetly the best right now.
Carbineer is in dead last. Even the pistoleers who think they're all broken and need uber specials can agree to that now.

Carbineer is dead last of ALL combat professions. Commando, BH, and Pikeman used to be worse... but Carbineer by far now takes the cake, me thinks.

For all those of you who are never, ever dropping this profession regardless of what happens to it, put it in yer sigs. If you are dedicated enough to this profession to keep it throughout the many troubles we have had, you deserve recognition.

good for you guys!
stick with it.
I'm sorry I'm not as patient, I was carbineer sense launch and waited for the fixes to come, but I cannot waitany longer.
I wish you all luck with publish 7. And way to stick to your guns (literally).
