I had my elite made with an imp theme park stock and +85 krayt tissues. it then got a 30% dmg slice. It's 2.4 speed, 175 min/396 max. That is unpowered up.

A good gun, there's definately no arguing that, but like I said the elite has no niche really. If the same components and slice went into a laser or DXR6 I think both of those would be superior. The elite really needs some lovin to live up to it's name.

That was also very lucky.
Conversely, with the same tissues, you could have made four E11s. Yes, 4, because you wouldn't have had to sacrifice 1 for the schematic.
I made 2 Krayt E11s the other day, still trying to get them sliced.
They won't have the best stats in the world, because they're my "wot I use when unbuffed" weapons, so no stock, and a basic scope.
Still, 2.2speed is nice.

i figured i'd get one of these babies made so they can concentrate on damage and just cap speed, and use with buffs, maybe these wont suck after CB

As I said in another thread, 2.0 spd, 130-234 damage. Its a nice gun, but has been increasingly eclipsed by the Enhanced E11 as tissues and resources are poured into them.

I'm going to have to dispute that the Elite has no use.
The Elite carbine has it's main 'niche' in the pvp market because of the high minimum damage. The thing Nova has in the faq is still correct, even with the increased useof PSG's. The key here is damage mitigation. In PvE the laser is by far the best because creatures don't have damage mitigation to worry about... in PvP and especially against people with ranged mitigation 3, the elite is 9 times out of 10 going to come out on top of a laser carb. The only way you're going to do more damage with a laser carb is if you 1) have over 100 minimum damage, and 2) have almost 500 max damage. Laser carbs like that (at least on my server) are fairly difficult to find.
Against people who DON'T have ranged mitigation 3 (such as pure melee professions/stackers) I will agree that the laser is more powerful since in that case the damage mitigation doesn't matter at all.
Also, because of the changes to the bounty hunter profession, the Elite is going to bump off the E-11 on a lot of people's list of weapons. Once you hit the speed cap, the E-11's don't look quite as attractive, and the Elite becomes the weapon of choice.

Finally got my Krayt E11s sliced.
Final stats:
72-187, 1.7 spd (26% speed slice)
+27 Ideal
H 29
A 36
M 17

Now, when I made these, these were to be my low-HAM, no-buff weapon. So, no Stock, and only using a basic Scope experimented for Zero HAM (or close to, I'm not hugely picky when it comes to the weaponry I use for myself).
Compare this to my standard Laser Carbine:
94-388, 4.0spd (27% or so Damage slice, I don't recall)
+60 ideal
H 81
A 98
M 75
Legshot2 DPS: 241.0
Damage stats from Rems Damage Calculater.
My Speed mod is +50
Even granting the fact that the LC does 25% more damage due to AR2, the moderately decent E11 is doing the same (or better) damage. Purely on the basis of throwing out specials fast, the E11 wins.
Now, it's fair comment to say "but Brilyn, the E11 has a Krayt Tissue". But to make a better LC I'd need to burn ***4*** tissues.
The Tissues I used, if I recall correctly, were about 38 damage, and .57 speed. So, not base tissues, but not a heck of a lot better.
As a Weaponsmith, and a PvE Carbineer, unless someone specifically asks for a Krayt LC, all my tissues are going into E11s........
As for the Elite itself, given that in the highly *highly* specific instance of being
1) In PvP
2) Against someone with Ranged Mitigation 3
Then yes, the Elite has it's use.
But it's a frigging ***Elite***. 'Novice Carbineer' required.
The Powerhammer isn't that restricted. Neither is the VibroLance nor a whole host of other Advanced-level weaponry.
As such, I've binned my old Elite, and in the circumstances outlined above, I'll tip my hat to the PvPer in question for putting the effort in, and keep shooting anyway. Since I'm going to be using Cone attacks, primarily, I doubt *all* his mates are setup in the same fashion.

Ive got a groovy dmg sliced Elite with a speed and min dmg pup that does 225-299 with 2.9 spd stocked and scoped. love the min damage. BAD HAM though - cant remember exactly what.

i have an elite with barrel scope and stock cuz it looks amazing. The damage is somewhere in the 150-250 range and the speed is 2.8 so it isnt particularly good. Ive often seen e11s that totally beat out elites in every way so they definitely need to be buffed up majorly. My particular strategy in group pvp is actually to use this little DH17 i found with max unpowered up damage of 193 and speed of 1.7. I spam the hell out of specials and lay more states on the guy then he can count. Then if the group cant finish him off i whip out a laser carbine and hit him with some cripple shots. Sad thing is that my DH17 powered up kicks the crap out of my elite unpowered. The elite carbine needs a tune up.

I read in the faq I think that if you have master carbs and master marksman, anything under 4.0 speed was rather wasteful cause that template would already be shooting at 1.0 with a 4.0 weapon. Is this true?

Default attacks will cap at 4.0. Special attacks are slower.

I would love to see a Desert Eagle in real-life shoot faster then a Kolshievk Rifle or a STG44

Conversely, your example is completely invalid.
Maybe if you compared *automatic* pistols to *automatic* rifles, you might have a fair comparisons......
Amazingly enough, a MAC10 can fire faster than a 50 calibre sniper rifle..... *rolleyes*
