What are good tactics for a Carbineer to use in PVP?
I've used the suggested template (BH3,MCarb,NovMed) for over a month now, and I find that the best combos for offensive PvP you can use is:
1) Open with: FullAutoSingle2.
If you get a Dizzy, use FireKD. Once they are down, spam Crippleshot until death. If their Action Ham bar is close to gone, use LegShot2 till death.
If you get a Stun, you can either try FAS2 again, or you can try using SuppressionFire2. Since their defenses are lowered, and depending on the template you're up against, odds are they don't have much resistance to a Posture Down. Once they are kneeling, use FireKD on them. You have a damn good chance of both KD'ing them and inflicting a Dizzy at the same time, since kneeling gives a nice boost to KDs.
Once they're down, it's pretty much Crippleshot. In certain instances, CrippleShot will target the action pool more (its random), so if their Action is really low, spam LegShot2 to take them out.
Certain variations are of course possible. Some prefer ChargeShot and have better luck with KDs in PvP. Personally, with BH Carb 3, I have 4 KDs to choose from.. so one usually works. I myself also like to throw in a posture down before I try any KD shot. It's a matter of preference, though SuppressionFire2 seems to work really well, especially against people who are running away or against melees who are running towards you.
Actually, Melee is one of the few things you need to worry about in PvP. Our defenses aren't that great, and landing a successful KD on them can take time. Your best bet is to get a carbine that has good accuracy at around 50m and try to distance yourself from them. While our Carbine Accuracy is excellent with the BH line, it's always good to stay at atleast 20m+ from your opponent.
Remember that our Accuracy while moving isn't as good as the regular one, so if you're up against a 'defense stacker' or a 'famed player' on your server, stay still to land the KD/Dizzy, if only for a few seconds.
Groupwise, it's always good to have one Doctor and a Rifleman. While you can easily solo most templates and keep your targets at bay and in place (kneeled using SuppresionFire/ActionShot or KD'd whenever possible), most people go for the Rifleman, because the mind is a most precious thing.
I think that about sums it up. ![]()
