Not to get off on a tangent here, but I will say something real quick about real life ballistics... Like Master noted,full metal jacketed ammunition (FMJ)are usually only used in situations where armor piercing is going to be needed, otherwise jacketed hollow points (JHP) are used. JHPs, as the name suggests, use hollowed out tips, which when striking a target such as flesh, collapse upon imptact, allowing for a broader, more damaging impact. The higher impact force and larger puncture diameters, along with the fact that the bullet usually stays in the body,allow for greater incappacitating effects. Armor piercing rounds such as FMJs tend to enter and exit the target with smaller puncture sizes, with lower impact force. Though incappacitation is possible, it is usually due to bleeding out, which is not imediate.
