Hm.. do you mean Uncrow? He's the only Carbineer I know whose name starts with a U. Otherwise, the only other famous Carbineers (who no longer play today) were Amro, Ypiana and Shindo.

i think alot of people who consider carbineer a joke, and ineffective apparently have no clue how to use the skills in the carbineer profession. IMO carbineer takes some strategy to be effective, from landing state effects at the start, to knowing when to use a KD, and when to target action with legshot3 etc etc. Sense this takes some planning and some brains people just take things simple and revert back to a melee profession. I'll admit carbineer has its querks that label it the title "carbicide", but i'm patient enough to wait for the Combat Rebalance to smooth things out. I'm proud to wear my carbineer titles, cause i understand the profession and know how to use it in an effective way.

in a nutshell some people can't handle it when they just can't simply spam the same special to win!

Well said!!! Good job man!

Ive beena Carbineer since almost the first week.(started on the pathe TO Carbineer that is)

I didn't GRIND, I took it box by box, skill by skill, trying to master each to its potential. I PvPered alot since I got the charging shot. I used strategy, not uber blasters. I

Thats funny, I was a swordsman on shadowfire and moved to Bloodfin to be a carbineer about a year ago now. So we kind of switched places huh?

Yeah I meant Uncrow. He's the one that made those three go carbineer, heh.

He hasn't left SWG at all! He's still alive and well in AXIS/GANK Both of us frequently PvP together (almost daily) as Carbineers.

All I have ever been is a carbineer.. Carbines and Dance at first LOL. Now Master/ BH 0440 / Pistols 0044

Master since November 03. Pure ranged then and still am. I dont dominate PvP, but I do think I have respect for doing my job, that is support in a PvP group. Most people's reaction to my Master Title now is somewhat respect, and I have worked very hard towards that.

I do get a lot of questions about Carbineer. I've seen both ends, as I mastered it pre-buff. I still maintain a full set of low ham carbines. Old habits.

I think peoples perception is that Carbineer is somewhat of a joke, but honestly its just not user friendly. There is just no room for error as as a Carbineer, the learning curve is slow, and the cost for tapes and quality weapons can be a burden, as I do think the Carbineer has to maintain the largest selection of good weapons and choose according to the situation. For example, Im also BH Pistol 4 and Pistoleer 0044. I can use the same good scatter in 90% of my situations, buffed/unbuffed with 37 action the high cost. Conversly three shots from my good stocked/scoped/ high damage Laser will incap me unbuffed. Carbineers have to think, and our mistakes generally lead to hard lessons via a trip to the cloner.

I do think we are effectively blocked from a bit of content.. places where our area shots are instant death for the group, certain NS, all mobs that require high damage as Rifle/Swordsman will rule there. Also our highly vaunted states have NO effect on high level mobs, (or very little chance of sticking). We suffer the same fate as any ranged user vs. Jedi.

I am very proud to be, I think, the Oldest continuous Master Carbineer on Valcyn. When I do things in PvP I garner more respect than the FOTM guys do, and that is a nice thing.

Carbineer is, IMHO, an intrinsic reward profession. You have to love it for what it is, and realize at times the rewards are personal, and not something you can hang out for the world to see.

I love this profession. Carbineer since I first picked up a gun until now. I have heard the jibes and criticisms occassionally too but the previous advice was good....challenge the heckler to a duel. If you win you have showed your skill and cunning. If you lose you demonstrate carbineers to be fearless and honourable opponents...a credit to your class. I love the thrill of solo missions on the corvette just to see if I can kill one or two extra npc's this time around (and maybe score the DOT carbine I always dreamed of having...still dont have one).

We are like the quiet, dependable friends at school....slow to brag about our abilities but always ready to back up a mate....and we are ALWAYS invited to parties. We may not be the most popular kid in the schoolyard but everyone always gives us a moment of silent respect when we unexpectedly knock down the school bully.

And we are dreamers....always gazing at the stars and longing for the day we will grow up to be as big and strong as the other boys....that day will soon come.

AND THEN WE'LL PUT THE BOOT INTO EVERY SNOT NOSED LITTLE PUNK WHO EVER GAVE US S*IT!!

I find it entertaining to point and laugh at Sullustans and master rangers,

I'm a master carbineer/master ranger, and you won't know the joy of tactics until you don't have to kite a mutant rancor because you've halved his action beforehe know'syou're there, and thenslowed him with a phecnacine dartand killed him before he's been able to hit you.And if I do need to kite,I can run down and upboth sides of Rancor Valley before that rancor get's to the bottom. I can get 60 meters out of range up one of those hills before a CM can get a stim thrown.

If you want ultimate in PvE tactics go try landing an area KD 10 seconds after landing an area PDon a lair of Voritor Hunters, it works great right after you throw a sonic pulse trap and stun the lot of them. And when they do get up they can't hardly hit you because you've blinded them all with a flash bomb.

And then I get to double my Force exp take by harvesting the creature afterwards. Krayt's are worth 2k scouting exp for example. And then I get to sell the hide I pull too, 500 units offone mutant rancor at 20 cpu, minimum.
