Hehe cool - sounds pretty cinematic. I doubt we could get our Riflemen and myself (carbineer) to prone during a PvP encounter, and generally the melee'rs are the first to run in a fight.. but I could see how such tactics would work wonderfully.. especially come the Combat Revamp.


You're right about the "setting up for kills", though. Our guild is currently guildwarring a Rebel PvP PA. Last night, we had an encounter.. 18 of us vs 16 of them (though they had 2 Jedi, we had none).. I basically came in first and spammed FullAutoArea2 with several dot carbines, effectively inflicting states and DoTs on almost everyone within the first few seconds.


Popped of a ChargeShot2, got 3-4 down out of their group.. retreated behind a building, switched to a Laser, waited a few more seconds until our melee'rs had successfully started engaging the opposition, and popped right back out again, inflicting states and KDs.. basically coming to the aid of anyone who needed a targed "controlled".


It was a near-flawless victory.. we lost only one member.. all of them died, including their Jedi.


Carbineer is essential in large PvP encounters.. there's just no denying it.

the problem is people dont like to play with others and would rather have a solo toon than a compliment to a group. i dunno about you but if i wanted to go solo all the times i could play better games offline that dont cost me a monthly fee. isn't the whole point to online games is to play with other people?

Non-BH Carbines: Use either of the Full Auto attacks to land dizzy, stun, and blind on your target. Use Charge Shot 1 for the KD(Charge Shot 2 forarea KD)or Suppression Fire 1 for the PD(Action Shot 2 for area P/D.


BH Carbines: Start with Confusion Shot or Full Auto Area 2. Make sure all the states you can apply with both are on your target. Use any KD attack you want, and any P/D you want to get them down.


I actually don't use a lot of the BH Specials, since I like to play the support role and use Full Auto Area / Area KD's / PD's, since that's what our crew needs.

As just a carbineer its very difficult to pvp solo. In groups you hope that no one notices you and of course kite.


Once i picked up the BH carbines line as well as a superb Las Carbine, It was like going from black to white.

In both cases dizzy/kd was my first goal. Upon that success, crippleshot was my mainstay.


A lot of pvpers wear stun armor that doesnt exactly have great energy resist. Of course, theres the added factor of PSGs, but I can do at least 200 a second to health. I would try the DXR but none I've found match the stability of the laser rifle.

oh and in groups, try to see which opponents dont have ranged mitigation, as many defense stackers only stack 3 melee professions.


I have the master carbineer mitigations as well as TKM 0004 defenses. And novice medic of course. when things get sticky.

since I dropped MBH I went from sprayshot to fullautosingle/area2. It seems to apply states faster than cunfusion shot.
