Thread: Request for CU Top 5 Issues
Lets see
1- A charge shot that does something, I have more luck with my BH kd move. Even then they get up fast as I kd them, and then the BH & Carb Kds evidently do not cross which is pretty damned flakey, as you should be able to use 1, then then the other.
2- Adv Area attack,Since I am gonna agro -everything- as it is,let me do more damage when I use it. Not to mention the time delay on it sucks majorly in a tight situation.
3- Rapid fire isn't. EG. I have my Prot Carb and a speed coupler. And I still feel like I am waiting for hours for the attack to go off again, (with speed coupler & skill stuff my speed is supposedly .93 ) Way under 1 second. I'd take doing less dmge (my base dps is above 500, but I would take 350 if I could hose down anmob for a few seconds (Eg until the action bar went too tired) As it stands my fastest attack is the baisc Marksman one, and well I am a master Carbineer, by god I want to spray the area with hot deadly energy unil there are nothing but corspes all aound me and I am nearly incapped.
(Unfortuantly, while the old motto of I'm a master Carbineer and I can kill myself fast than you can kill me, isn't the same as before, but with the current incap timer, if you go down and the mob is agro, or one of the new DB mobs, it's a fast trip to be rezed or recloned. In either case)
4- Adv leg shot 1600+ max dmg and it looks in the combat spam that I loose 1/4 to 1/3 of it when I am fighting anything close to level 80, even when the mob in question is running around with less -evident- armor than a semi naked Twillik (No I am not talking about a Tk-Twillik or Jedi Twillik....)
5- Suppression fire. Man I would love for this to work. Especialy since it looks like it is a cone effect. I would love to see an entire horde of mobs suddenly hit +retreat+ and flee like idiots. As it is it seems like +retreat+ is a random thing that is not even tied to our line.

-I- have yet to see Charge shot work for my toon, (or at least on a regular basis) As for exploit.. Not. considering the KD recovery on mobs (not players) is nearlyfreaking instatanious.

Dude, Seriously, how is it going to be an exploit??? Every single time I use Adv Area Attk, I aggro EVERYTHING in tthe cone, even if they are out of range. Considering I am then the AGRO Target Form Hell! Upping the daminge I put out is only fair.

NEWS to me, near as I can tell -nothing stays down/stuck or even has a -snared- etc state on it.
Improved Charge shot changed to cone. The Improved/Advanced versions replace the lower version and thus with this change we would lose our single target KD. Commando can get a cone KD and I think we should have one eventually but it would have to be a different special.
Rapid fire upped in damage or have a chance to land a critical shot of 25% bonus damage. Well BH has Critical Shot and there is no reason for Carbineer to steal a MBH ability....yes Rapid Fire needs to become useful but not this way.
While the BH have a crit shot, 100pnts of dmg every 3-5 seconds is pretty lame on a mob that is 3k+ health. & yeah they bith about it too
Suppression fire changed to AoE hindrance to target's rate of fire. Carbineer doesn't get that ability and I won't ask to steal it from Pistoleer...Suppression Fire does an effective Cone Snare and is working as intended.
(I'd argue this adnusium.)
Would like to see a DoT or state effect special (Or both)....I recommend a reasonable action bleed (Debuff). DoT are reserved for other profs and I won't ask to steal another prof's distinction just as I scream that no other prof should have similar position or cone damage like a Carbineer.....it is a 2-way street
(Ah it's not like the other profs would throw too much of fit... but then I am biased.)
Add a cone root special to further define our crowd control abilities. A multi target root that worked like Stopping Shot would be somewhat over powered so I'm not suggesting that but I would like to see something that works similar to the new version of the Combat Medic's Paralyse ability. In other words the ability to root multiple targets with the root effect breaking on further damage done either directly or by DoT (if in a group). Essentially the ability would enable a carbineer to retreat in good order or heal without taking further damage. Not an offensive special by any means but certainly a crowd controller. We already have a Cone Snare and adding a Cone Root would be unbalancing and stealing from other profs' distinction.

Return the random application of states to the Full Auto Area special. This was also one of our signature pre-CU moves. State application is limited and considered a prof defining ability and quite frankly we can't have everything so this one is out.....

We stated the problems and possable solutions with the tools we know of that the devs are using. If our purposed solutions are not good. So be it...we dont right the game. But the fact is that the Problems are still here. We dont need to come up with the best way to fix it, thats what we pay you for. If working as intended is precieved as a Problem by the customer....Apparently we dont see your intention therefore its NOT WORKING AS INTENDED. Basicly when i see a dev say working as intended i feal insulted. At least when were not asking if thats what its suppost to do but saying the way it works is crap.

If you are referring to Suppression Fire as 'working as intended' well IT IS TAFIREHAWK THAT SAYS IT IS WORKING AS INTENDED. So I guess it is me that is insulting you.
So keep the crap to yourself as I don't have my hip-waders on right now.

Working as intended sometimes doesnt helps us TA, if we don't know the DEVs intention and apperantly we don't play the game the same way they do.
Still, this, Inoga_Tarien, doesnt apply to suprresion fire. Suppression fire is working as intended, when you use it as intended. TA worked the effect with the DEVs out together (as far as I know, from reading on this forum).
As long as you spam it all targets will be snared, it can be shot very fast, thus keeping it a grouped based PvE effect. You lay suppresion fire, everybody else uses takes them out. It is one of the few continiously spamable specials.
Charge Shot is working very fine. The KD timer is locked together with the stat and the target, hence the reason why the same timer applies to Charge Shot as well as Underhandshot. The KD time for MOBs is 5 second s giving you one or when your fast, two shots on your target. The animations are fast enough, check your combat log.
To TA, as soon as the FAQ is out, I think most of the questions which currently arrise will be answered in there and you can chargeshot and KD everybody with that, till then, chew on this dewback as long as its in progress

Thus back to topic.
I noticed yesterday, that I draw hate with my area shots as well as my single target shots from out of range or in an area although Im using a single target shot. Not sure if its because the MOBs are working together or its the "hate draw" from my effect. I ll look into this but the current hate we draw is a bit much.
A nice request in addition to my TOP 5 would be a skill which would /push the target back/, but since such a effect might be heavily unbalanced in PvP, I guess it wont be implemented. Still I wanted to raise my voice for such an effect, maybe you can see an away to incorporate something like that.
