There is an 'inherent' 1.5x multiplier to damage - that is, if you have a 100-200 gun, your autofire will actually do 150-300 damage. Crippling shot does 7.5x the listed damage, which works out to a 5x multiplier relative to normal shots. This seems to be the confusion. The convention is that the multiplier is always relative to the autofire damage, not list.

SOJ, how cvan you be so sure about the modifiers? There is large spread on a Laser carbine between min damage and max damage. if you get 500 damage how can you be sure it is not 2X at 250 weapon dam or 5X at 100 weapon damage?

It seems very hard to really know the damage modifiers. That is probably why we argue so much over how much damage different moves do.

I would love to see a complete list of every special move with damage modifier, ham cost, special effects. But I guess we have to ask SOE to get accurate information (maybe something to add to our "wish-list")

Information like this would be a lot more interesting for "friday feature" than knowing about their internal "structure viewer" :-).

Burshot2 is a cone of effect Burshot1.

Is it? I dont remember ever hitting more than one mob with burst2.

Maybe it is supposed to be a cone and it's broken? That could explain the damage very similar if not equal to burst1.

Yes, that's what I have been doing. You can fire hundreds of shots and be able to determine what a good max damage is. You may not have to hit complete max damage, but if you take the highest max damage that you got out of a lot of shots, then you'll have a good idea where the modifier may be. Burst Shot 2 has never acted like a cone attack to me. I have fire both burst shots... countless amounts of times. Also, I've used different weapons ranging from CDEF (17 - 39) to Laser Carbine (38 - 268) to determine the modifiers and it's usually in the same range of results.
