Yup thats the smart thing to do for now since the missions are bugged. Do Novice to 10k. Another huge factor in the missions is time. Currently the more droid speed skill you have to slower your tracking droids become. I'm at Inv 3 now and my droids take 5 minutes to give me an update. I did Investigate 1 and the droids took 1 minute and 30 seconds to update me. Screwy huh. Novice BHer's also make a ton more credits than the higher Investigation BHer's do as well. Another borked concept in the most Borked line of all.

To address the original poster: Carbineers dizzy has never stuck and our specials (if they worked) would be in line with the Bounty Hunters specials. Bounty Hunter carbine specials are sneaky status effects ("cheap shots"if you will)that are designed for single target control. A Carbineer's attacks are designed along the same lines but for multiple mob crowd control. The only problem is they don't work. If the status effects worked and if our dizzy worked (and if the Carbineer had more speed) then the Carbineer would be more in line with the Bounty Hunter. We have specials that do damage as well as have status effects. If you look at the BH Carbine line they are pretty much just knockdowns and status effects. As far as I know Underhand shot is the only one that does decent damage (it does a little less than fullautosingle2)


Now to address where this thread has gone to:


I gave up Bounty Hunter and came back to Carbineer because of investigation. I simply don't have the time to master that branch. By my calculations and given my rate of play it would have taken me about 6 months to a year to master Investigation alone. That's 6 months of doing missions only, every play session. Novice missions can take 6-12 minutes but only if the stars are aligned. Shuttle wait times are the bane of all Bounty Hunters. I was averaging about 15-20 minutes of shuttle wait down time for every mission. Get a mission from the terminal head to the shuttle and wait 5-10 minutes, get to my destination and jog for 5-10 minutes to marks location. Engage mark and kill mark in a few minutes (the fun part). Jog 5-10 minutes back to shuttle and wait another 5-10 minutes for shuttle to arrive. This was my life for about a month and I earned about 3K investigation xp. I simply got burned out on all the down time.


When I realized that it was only going to get worse and the fact that I could spend anywhere from 1-3 hours tracking a mark just to find they are bugged I reconsidered being a Bounty Hunter. I have no desire to be a 0-4-4-4 BH because for that many skill points I want to do more than shoot really fast.


I've sold back all my BH skills except for my carbine skills. I'm down to about 10 skill points left or so and as I need them I plan to first sell off my BH carbine skills then my master marksman skills since I don't want rifle or pistol skills anymore.


Simply put the Carbineer needs the following (this is not comprehensive just a start)


1. MORE SPEED. We get less speed mods than both pistoleers and riflemen. For each box that gives speed carbineers get +5 while pistoleers get +6 and riflemen get +10. We need a +7 or +8 to put is in between pistoleers and riflemen. Also at master, pistoleers and riflemen get a +20 while carbineers only get +10. What's up with that (yes I know we get more accuracy but still)


2. Broken specials and status effects need to be fixed. Our dizzy has never stuck. If the Carbineer's dizzy would have worked then maybe this thread would have had a differnent tone. The Bounty Hunters dizzy works the Carbineers doesn't it's that simple. If the Carbineer who wrote this thread had a dizzy attack that work and landed his dizzy attack AND HAD IT STICK the Bounty Hunter would have been flopping on the ground and not the Carbineer.


Also thanks for not making this a NERF BOUTNY HUNTERS whine fest thread. Trust me, as a former Bounty Hunter it gets old after awhile.

And btw, i dont know why devs say that the defenses dont work, maybe they dont work as much as they're supposed to, but they do in fact work. I have 75kd defense and I can prove my defenses work. Anyone who wants to try knocking me down, go for it. During pvp i'm lucky to be on my back once a week. I've had tka masters using any of their attacks they want, pistoleers whipping me, bh using any of their kd, i just dont go down. I resist about 9/10 knockdowns with 75kd resist and about 8/10 posture changes with 70 pc resist. I have around 10 defense vs dizzy i think, but that only helps me resist dizzy landing on me. I think my combat equilibrrium from tka might help me recover from knockdown and dizzy faster. Although when they devs nerfed knockdown and let everyone stand up instantly it pretty much ruined all meaning of combat equilibrium by its definition, so i dont know. I know defenses do atleast do something though, they resist the effect landing, they also reduce the duration.

Yeah this isn'ta thread asking for a BH nerf. It's just a guy talking about a BH attack. I think the focus of Carbineers is to work on getting our attacks fixed instead of getting BH's nerfed. Remember we have a dizzy attack also. . . it just doesn't work.

Well sorry I got all you BH/Carbineers worked into such a frenzy. As atimes said, I wasn't asking for a BH nerf, just information....
