Thread: The Proton Carbine and the Bothan Bola Carbine

The Proton carbine will never be released, it was modelled for fun, and its a European G-36 machine gun, down to the pixel. And, Sorry to burst your bubble, TA, but both the Pub10 and Pub11 weapons are going to be released in JTL as bonuses for getting the expansion, only those with the expansion can use them or make them. I'm unsure as if they use space loot, mabye. A few of the weapons won't be released, such as the Czerka dartCarbine and the Proton carbine. The robotic arms are NPC only.
Also, That's pretty hypocritical and unbelievably unkind of you to make a comment about the carbineers being laughed at, only to turn around and laugh at a possibly legitimate idea, when you yourself have no idea.

Just to cover my arse, I took this to the Corr Forum.....well my friend you are absolutely wrong. I am not breaking any NDA for JTL or any other Corr Restriction, but unless this is some surprise even for the Corrs, you are flat out wrong and deserve every bit of the flaming from the other Carbineers in here.
And enjoy your visit from the MODERATOR.

The E-11 and DH17's were British Stens, the Broomhandle Mauser was WWI and Winston Churchill kept one as his personal weapon. The Proton Carbine looks like a G36 while the Proton rifle looks like the OICW being developed by the Army and the gauss rifle looks like the back half of an Steyr Aug. They just rip weapons from real life and kit bash them.
Until recently the weapons used in the movies were real firing military weapons with additional add-on's to make them look different. That is popular practice used even in today's movies as well although they've done a better job changing the appearance.
Stuff from Ep. I, II,and III are all non-firingcreated from scratch models. Granted though, that shock lance looks alot like the lightsaber-proof staves you're going to see in Ep. III.
well if thats the case at leasts if they are real

the first one looks like a german G36
yeah it is a dead ringer for the G36C, and the bothan looks like the Carbine version of the M1 Garand from WWII. lol.....I thought the same thing
..Just like the DL44 pistol looking alot likethe Mauser Broomhandle pistol from WWI. (1911? 1912?) Because SWG is trying to copy the movies and they're looks (props). Prop companies often use existing de-milled weapons and glue wood or plastic on them to make them look different but a person with a good eye such as yourself often sees the weapon underneath the 'make up'.
hmm..a pattern? haha
and for that matter the very musket-like tusken rifle.
except for the big silver part, the DH17 looks like a British gun from WWII as well - cant remember the name at the moment - it was the super-cheap stamped metal submachine gun they airdropped to French resistance fighters. There were two that were airdropped. A pistol and a submachine gun. The submachine gun was simular to our M3 'Grease Gun' which also was of the stamped metal quality. The Brit's name escapes me too.
I imagine this all comes from the budget-strapped props department of the first (IV) SW movie taking any prop weapon they could find and sticking on odd bits of metal and plastic to future-ize them
As stated above, your right! EX: StarShip Troopers and thier personal weapons - Modified shotguns that I think Mausburg makes.
And the "Bola" is a model of a RL Mini-14 (Small M-14)
kinda weird and dumb looking oh well

I thought the E-11 was the sterling submachine gun. The DH17 was definately the sten. I suppose they used whatever was cheap at the time and added minimal bits to make them look futuristic.
It was and still is throughout all 3 movies. They used 3 and 5 round clips to fire blanks making the shooting more "realistic". First time I noticed was during the Empire Strikes back at the getaway scene in cloud city. Leia was pumping off shots under the falcon and I noticed the action cycling and ejecting spent casings as well as the noticable blast from the barrel and recoil.
Thanks to cgi thats all a thing of the past. Not sure if its good or bad really. Then again were talking about the same company that spent thousands making a cgi clone trooper run up to Pademe and say like 3 lines instead of having a real actor do it.
