edit: holy forum madness for me, everything seemed jumbled, retyped:

edit: I know it's not the easiest, but it is fun I like questing for new weapons, and when the Geo Lab first opened, my guild had a bunch of hunts just to get our Rifleman the new rifles. The acid rifle isn't the best gun, but it's a change, neat looking, and offers a fun fighting adventure to get to it.

Hell, even a modified laser carbine hidden in the Geo Lab "just found" or something would be great.

So you people dont think that they will put ground loot into space? Sure seems like a good way to get people that dont want to buy the space expansion to buy it to me. Quite a few people have said they arent going to bepurchasing it, it would be ignorant of SOE not to put some carrots in the expansion for the holdouts. So laugh away!

yeah it is a dead ringer for the G36C, and the bothan looks like the Carbine version of the M1 Garand from WWII.

..Just like the DL44 pistol looking alot likethe Mauser Broomhandle pistol from WWI. (1911? 1912?)

hmm..a pattern? haha

and for that matter the very musket-like tusken rifle.

except for the big silver part, the DH17 looks like a British gun from WWII as well - cant remember the name at the moment - it was the super-cheap stamped metal submachine gun they airdropped to French resistance fighters.

I imagine this all comes from the budget-strapped props department of the first (IV) SW movie taking any prop weapon they could find and sticking on odd bits of metal and plastic to future-ize them

You are exactly correct. I remember seeing a documentary on it once, but I can't remember which one. In fact, I think that those were almost the exact same words the prop guys used to describe what they were doing!

The E-11 and DH17's were British Stens, the Broomhandle Mauser was WWI and Winston Churchill kept one as his personal weapon. The Proton Carbine looks like a G36 while the Proton rifle looks like the OICW being developed by the Army and the gauss rifle looks like the back half of an Steyr Aug. They just rip weapons from real life and kit bash them.

The Proton carbine will never be released, it was modelled for fun, and its a European G-36 machine gun, down to the pixel. And, Sorry to burst your bubble, TA, but both the Pub10 and Pub11 weapons are going to be released in JTL as bonuses for getting the expansion, only those with the expansion can use them or make them. I'm unsure as if they use space loot, mabye. A few of the weapons won't be released, such as the Czerka dart Carbine and the Proton carbine. The robotic arms are NPC only.
Also, That's pretty hypocritical and unbelievably unkind of you to make a comment about the carbineers being laughed at, only to turn around and laugh at a possibly legitimate idea, when you yourself have no idea.

No offense but...where the hell did you hear that from? The only comment on something like that to believe is straight from a DEV's mouth, not from a discussion on the beta boards if there was one (I haven't seen it if there was).
Also, TA wasn't being hypocritical at all when he said carbineers were laughed at. It was a true comment, some people laughed that some of us got our hopes up so much only to never see anything from it. It has more to do with pride and trying to make sure we don't set ourselves up for another dissapointment then bashing someone down...chill....

I'm fairly certain I'm not breaking the NDA by saying no, those have not been seen in beta.
